I was at the local Can Tire dealer the other day picking up some home stuff when I wandered down the winter tire isle. I was looking at the new Goodyear Nordic. It's a full snow tire with the deep treads and soft compounds for good grip in the cold. It's also about 2/3 the price of an X-Ice. I happen to push against the sidewall and the thing almost caves in. The X-Ice (and the other namebrands) sidewall is really stiff but on the Goodyear you think your thumb is going to go right through. I don't see the Nordic listed anywhere on the official Goodyear site but it's on the Can Tire site.
Anyone know what going on? This looks to me like Can Tire and Goodyear are pulling a fast one based on a big brand name.
