I have a 6.1L and noticed a ways back after letting her sit for a day, when I started it up, there was a puff of blue. It scared the **** out of me. There is no need to be alarmed, if this is the fix though. I asked the same question and the answer may be that you need an oil catch can. Start inquiring on the Search LXForums, there is tons of info on this issue...good luck.

it's not uncomon to have a small puff of smoke after a engine sits for awhile (especailly if the motor has over 40k) oil will bleed down, the only time this is bad is if it won't stop burning oil.
