    Short story on Recall

So when I purchased my Magnum,, I specifically asked if there were any updates/recalls for my car and was told there was NONE!

So today I finally got around to putting in my VIN on the dodge website, and it shows an INCOMPLETE safety recall for my trans. from november 23, 2005

I guess my question is how do I approach them about there LIE. I have had nothing but problems with this dealership. I think I am just going to drive the extra and go to a whole new dealership all together. I have one in my small town where I live and they seem to be nothing but jerks....

Any advice before I jump in head first with my printed copy off the website about my recall?

    Thanks everyone!
    Keith

Hi Keith, yep I would find a new dealer.
    Here is what I did
1.) Get them to search for update using your build date and model etc, instead of by VIN, seems that its easier for them to locate updates this way.
2.) Do research here as to T.S.B.s specific to your car, print them off and take them with you to the dealer.
3.) If they are not completely supportive of you bring in info immediatly walk out of said dealer and find another
4.) meet the Service MGR before you agree to get your car repaired at said dealer, discuss with him your concerns and show him the TSBs you have, if he isn't completely helpful find another dealer.
5.) try and take you car to a 5star dealer or one that has been in operation for many years. New dealers tend to have less skilled staff and lack the desire to solve issues with cars they didn't sell.

Contact your Area Service Manager (Rep), their phone number should be in the manual. You do NOT need to accept that.

Keith what dealership do you goto.

I goto St Albert Dodge and I find the service to be SOSO.

And I kind of feel like I am putting them out when I take my Magnum there for work. In fact I have held back getting some extra work done because of there not so effective customer service.

I "USED" to go to St Albert Dodge as well!! *weird, small world* And found the same. It was almost a chore for them to check out my car. I said screw them, and was on a mission. First I narrowed it down to strickly 5-star dealerships. Then location.

I did find out that there manager (st. albert dodge) got the "AXE" and so did the saleman that sold me my car..... Must have been some needed changes.... haha

So Great West Chrysler it was, 5 star, right on 184th and stony plain road. Awsome there. Great service. I got my recall done, my squeeky break pedal lubed, and my rear window ghost fixed.

I would recommend there for you as well. I am sure you wont be dissapointed.

Thanks again all, and take care of your LX's!

5.) try and take you car to a 5star dealer
Personally, that "5-star" sign indicates to me that that place is one best stayed away from. In my experience (ymmv) that does nothing to indicate anything other than beancounting numbers jacking by dcx.

Incrementing the dumbass_dealer_count is real sad, because they can do better and be better, nationwide - if they really wanted to. I see way more dealers mentioned as complete a$$hats than I see dealers complimented in here. How many times have we read of dealers doing their best to deny warranty work due do some totally unrelated mod? Like a catback or cai has doodley-squat to do with a leaky transmission or balky window.

MY little local dealership just sent me a coupon for a free oil change trying to get me back. Not going to work Ryan T., I let y'all do the TSB for the transmission and got back a dirty, grease stained car - I'll never end up there again. Driving to Greenville, SC (about 2.5hrs) is preferable - good service is what brings customers back and I see DCX dealers driving us away - despite having some of the coolest hardware for sale.

    rant_mode = off
