I still had to install the lower E&G Mesh grille that was sitting around my shop, so since it was nice and sunny out, I jacked the car up and installed it.
WHAT A PAIN!!!!!
After removing the splash pans, I found I had to remove my Mopower chin spoiler in order to drill the mounting holes for the grille hardware...........and it was impossible to get my rivet gun close enough to properly seat the rivets because of the design of the fascia...........I had to use small machine screws, and it was very difficult to thread the nut on as there is VERY little space for your hands when doing this............
Since the Grille hardware kit was $50.00 + Tax, I made my own holding brackets......
I also installed the Custom grille emblem that I made from a reproduction WW-I German "Grand Cross Of Iron" medal.![]()
I had to expoxy/JB Weld two threaded studs to the back of the cross and make a backing plate for it.
Here are the grille brackets and Iron Cross Emblem.....
The Lower Grille Install............
Grille held in place with plastic Zap Straps for positioning....
Finished Install....
With "Grand Cross of Iron" Emblem......
In general everything worked out and fit properly.![]()

................For me, it feels good to install stuff on my own, and be lucky enough to be able to design and fabricate some of the more personal touches..............and have people like and appreciate the custom handmade things...............
