Crazy warranty on the nissan GT-R

i take it you've never had an awd car before?

on any awd car even minivans unless your tires are within 3/32nds of a new tire you have to replace all 4 at once. ask any tire dealer or car dealer. differences in rolling diameters between new tires and old are enough to destroy a transfer case over time. tire and car dealers won't put just one or two tires on because they don't want the liability if you have problems down the road with your driveline components.

I saw a silver Nissan GT-R on my way to work (Miramar Parkway), do not get me wrong it is a nice looking car but I do not get that "WOW" effect from it, just look like an upgrade Nissan to me. Performance the car probably worht it, but just by looking at the vehicle it does not look like a $70,000 + car to me. Viper turn more head.

Road and Track claimed that it did the quarter mile in 11.8 at 116.5 mph and the VetteZ06 did it in 11.7 but at 123.7 mph and it weighs a rather portly 3800 lbs vs the Z06's 3190lbs. They are priced similarly about $70,000. Somehow, I think its a bit of an improved Mitsubishi 3000 which was 300 hp and awd and quite a revolutionary car, but today you often see them as beaters. I know the Japanese are very good,but as complicated as this car is, I'd be a bit nervous if it broke, repairs could be scary, plus the Vette is a classicly styled car, It beats the GTR in the looks dept, hands down! Also were sending all our money to China, Japan and Korea. Lets try to spend some in North America.

If they bought that car for 70, they got a great deal. I am pretty sure you can't buy one under 110,000 currently.

u can race it but only in select tracks. it would be unlocked when you get on a designated track. i just cant deal with that black box they have on that thing. too much for me.

The ECU was supposed to be un-hackable but indeed the Japs have gotten in there.

I guess if you have enough cash and don't care about the warranty, you can go nuts. I actually had a second where I thought I might look into this car. But the more I hear, the less I like.

Thats insane he had to sign waivers. I'm not sure I would have done that. So how long did he agree to these no racing/modifying terms?

Wow he cant race it, cant change the wheels, that is so f***** Why would someone even waste money on something you cant race at the track. To have Nissan take all the fun out of it, I guess the Nissan would rather have this dude rippin around on the streets to get his kicks thats so much safer?? Unbelievable!!
Also would have to agree that the Magnum looks much sweeter...

Are you sure this isn't some type of lease? Seems very unlikely that the "waivers" would hold up in court. It's like when I go-kart. I have to sign a waiver, that says I can't sue them if I get hurt. Those hold no water, they are just there to scare you into compliance.

If it were a lease, I could see them placing more restrictions on what you can do, since technically, you would not own it.

And from what I've read/heard, none of those designated tracks are in the USA or Canada - Europe and Japan are the only locations with the "unlock" tracks that allow the car to do its thing.
