    Canadians with B&G PCM

Has any of the canadian members sent their PCMs for a reflash? Just wondering how long it took, and if you had any customs problems?

    Thanks

Ask Token about the right way to process the unit for customs.

I suppose you could send it to B&G for "repair", but they'd have to participate in sending it the correct way, back to you.

The info you need is covered HERE for simplicity, the best way to go about the process is to ship your item to the US vendor, and when they ship it back the value for Customs is set at the cost of the repair or upgrade that they made. That way taxes are only applied to the cost of the "upgrading" or "modification" of the unit.
There is an element of risk in doing this, should your PCM go missing in transit the transportation company would only be liable for the value for Customs, so doing a proper export and import with correct values is safer in the event there is a claim with the transport company.

Another way to do it is ship your item to the US and keep a copy of your shipping documents. When the vendor ships it back have them apply a value for Customs that would cover replacement cost including their modifications. You will be taxed on the full value, but you can claim a refund by sending the import documentation, along with your export docs to The Casual Refund Centre. This will prove that you already owned the item and your taxes paid will be returned to you.

HUGE thanks to Hemiwagn and HalfFast Performance for making it all possible.

Maybe I'll just take my PCM with me on my next trip to the US and get around the whole problem.
