Not happy with Huffines service right now!!

I went in for the coolant gunk fix and oil change. Dropped it off at 8:30am and picked it up at 5pm. Went to pay the cashier and she said I owed nothing. I was a little confused because the oil change is like $85. First thought was they did it for free but then reality hit me and figured they just forgot. Well at least they did the coolant thing.

As I waited for my car I noticed the invoice only had additive and coolant listed, no new bottle or cap.

My car needed the new bottle, believe me.

Stopped by the store on the way home and peeked under the hood. YIKES! Rad fluid drops everywhere and not to mention the white residue still lining the reservoir tank. Ten bucks the guy drained the old fluid, put in new then threw the additive in for good measure. Needless to say I have another appointment in the morning to see the manager.

Anyone else have this kind of trouble over there?

...I found the best treatment for the coolant problem is to take your motor apart every 8-10 thousand miles...it cuts down on engine sludge and no coolant problems either.

I've been waiting 2 weeks for my dealer to get the bottle and cap in, so they have the parts when they do the flush. Are these parts on back order, or difficult to come by?

I had my system flushed at Grubbs Chrysler in Bedford (service manager is my aunt!). I'm not sure what they did, but the did it right for me. Sorry to hear about your deal- I go to Huffins for oil changes when I can't make it all the way to Bedford, but haven't had any issues with them (other than being slower than old people having sex).

You're too far away from FTW for me to recommend my dealer....sounds like Huffines screwed the pooch....I'd listen to RocketJock and 300CSRT8 for the recommend here...PM them for their names and feel free to drop them at the dealer...I've recommended my dealer Longhorn Dodge in FTW to people and told them to make sure they mentioned I sent them. It shows solidarity to the dealer, no fame for me, just that people are coming to them by word of mouth....all of a sudden you hear the popping sound of heads being pulled out of butts when people come in when they realize there's new business dropping by...

After a little talk with the manager the whole thing was redone the way way it should have been done the first time. Alls well so far. They now know I mean business when I bring my car in.

I paid for one so I assumed it got done. Just today I rechecked the oil for dirt and it was clean. They did forget to change the little reminder sticker. I still feel a little uneasy about the whole thing.

You would think for the amount of $$$ we paid for our cars and the amount of $$$$ we put into our cars ALL dealerships would strive to have excellent Service departments to gain repeat Customers

I mean think about it, you are there ONE day to buy the car and they treat you like a king

Then you come back several times to the Service department over the years and MOST places act like you are a nuisance???

I spend time at Huffines and Jim Mcnatt , I have found a tremendous difference between the two. When Huffines quoted me $400 more for the full Mopar/Borla exhaust than McNatt. Also McNatt bent over backwards to get me a small grommet that fell of off my trunk, going so far as to take it from a Charger they had on the lot. Huffines also was the shop that told me in no uncertain terms that any deviation from my factory warranty and they would bust me. I have not broached the subject with Mcnatt yet, trying to build some rapport with the service manager first. I am sorry to read about your time at Huffines, and it’s a good heads up for me, I won’t be taking my Daytona there for service.
They should pay someone to read these damn forums; you would think customer service is the key to repeat business. But far to often it’s only about moving stock and over charging little old ladies to get their neon fixed.
Dont have to be a gear head to love this car

Ain't that the damn truth? I bet you can count on one hand the number of dealers with a clue about a group such as this one - 15,000+ people who either have, want, or are getting one of the cars that those very same dealers are trying to sell (and service if they have to) - you'd think they'd invert their rectal-cranial inversions and enter the real world.

It would appear that most of us know way more about our cars than the techs do who are supposed to be 'expert' and 'certified' and all that.

Of course, none of my disparaging remarks applies to the several very stellar individuals who frequent this forum and are the major exceptions to the rule. It is the dealers who hire those who can fog a mirror as their highest qualification that give the rest a black eye. And that's not just the car service industry either...
