Kennedale 1/8th mile strip
The Kennedale 1/8th mile has completely resurfaced the track and is now all concrete just like the TX Motorplex in Ennis .... due to weather problems they are already 2 weeks behind the normal opening date for the track...
The good news is, to generate more interest in bracket racing for street legal cars, they have introduced a new class this year.
Street legal cars only that must report a dial-in time of 9 seconds or slower and the only restriction to the class is NO drag radials or slicks of any kind ... beyond that, it is a run-what-ya-brung race for the over-9's class ... (my Mag can run high 8's so I have to drive carefully to compete and not break out here)...
This should be a lot of fun for stock or slightly-modded 5'7's or stock 6'1's .... the point is, it is bracket racing and if your car runs high 8's in the 1/8th mile you need to be able to drive it or config it right to keep it on the 9 second bubble ... reaction time is king here ... it costs nothing to race (except for the $10 entrance fee) ... there will be prize money for the winner each week... eliminations start at 2 PM every Saturday ...
I'd love to see some of our DFW-LX club members get in on this as a regular thing .... should be a lot of fun... This little track is trying real hard to get more people interested in racing without spending big bucks on their ride ... it's a lot of fun and you can't beat paying $10 to race legally on a properly prepared race track versus street racing ... I strongly encourage any of our DFW-LX members that have never thought about racing their cars to give this a try ... it's a lot of fun and you actually get to see how your LX stacks up against Mustangs and Camaros (very well actualy) ... nothing like a time-slip from a sanctioned race track to shut up the moron at the bar....
Your chances of beating me off the line may vary ...
