What exactly is the 2007 SRT/Design 300 ?

Stop in at a friends shop today to see what I thought was a 2007 300 SRT-8. After looking closer the badge stated SRT/DESIGH, so I pop the hood to find a 5.7 ??? WTF is all I could say. No other SRT badges on the car, the wheels don't say nothing. It has the rear spoiler and 20's on it and some of the same panels as the SRT. Has anyone else seen one of these cars ?? And if so what's the scoop on it, special features ? It had me fooled in to thinking it was a SRT.

Mike - It's basically a 300c with a special option group on it. The badge says DESIGN on it, the seats are the SRT8 style ones, the rims are different and a few other things. So it's just a C pretending to be an SRT8 really.

In my opinion, other than the better seats, it's a waste of time, and just besmirches (yes that's a word) the SRT8 name. I think this package was new for the 2007 model as well.

And that's all I know about that.

And most likely only $1000 cheaper then the real thing. Don't get me wrong it looked great until I popped the hood, thats started it then of course I had to climb in honk the horn, play with all the buttons and yes I did notice they are SRT seats just no Badging BUT NO NAV. OOOO MAN that NAV is the $hit, I wouldn't buy another car with out it.

Yeah I agree on the NAV....Only wish it was touch screen, but she works great. Especially now that we have the modified disc that allows us to enter things while the car is moving. Of course we try not to let the driver be the one doing the entering....not since the incident lol

It was basically the equivalent of what a Road and Track equipped Charger is to the Charger line. It gets the Daytona/SRT style seats, the better suspension, 10hp adding exhaust and intake.. blah blah blah, lol.

So it does come with a better exhaust then, man I was really mashing down on that pedal and didn't really notice the difference like you do with a Daytona. Still sounds like a fart can pushin wind super fast. Good thing the new ower about to take delivery of his/hers new car today didn't see me testing out the revolutions of the motor.

There are no bullies around here !! I'd be pi$$ed with no NAV system, all the options but NO NAV AND 6.1. The heck with it i'm creating the new option for my car, going to call the option GIVE ME TICKETS 7.0 !! So I wonder if this SRT/Design model will have the same option with the ESP button as the SRT ?? hold button down for 6 seconds Disables totally.

I seen another one of them wanna be's today. Poor sucker doesn't realize how bad that salesman ripped him off, most likely said the usual ( This car will hold it's value better due to it being a SRT ).

So now here is my new question ???
Can a member owning one of these THINGS register under the SRT Registries on the forum ?
And another question ???
Will this guy have to pay more for insurance because of this goofy model ?
I had to pay more for the SRT over a R/T, it was an extra $80.

I don't care what you call it SRT Design, what ever, it seems like pretty good value for $1400.00. I,d have gladly paid that for the seats and 20" wheels alone. As for the Nav that's a separate package even on the SRTs, just like the DVD player. Hardly anybody into mods keeps their factory catback anyway and this one most likely already has the high flow cats. I think you guys are thumbing your nose at some pretty good value here just because of the badging, and

a lot of you guys rip that stuff off too. IMHO this guy got a 5.7 and saved heself a ton of mods.
