    Tires

OK I know everyone is going to say put different rims on but right now I have other things I have to use our money for; so I'm trying to find the best tire (a decent milage would be nice) for our Magnum RT (225/60X18), the last tires - (Continentals) only last 20,000KM. I need 2 for sure and if the price is right - 4 I would need them installed and high speed balanced.

I got a quote fron Fountain tire for Goodyear Assurance tires but I think they are out to lunch, just short of $1300.00 for 4 tires.

    Anyone have a good dealer/supplier?

Thanks in advance for your help.

FYI and for a price sanity check - Bramalea Tire has the Assurance Comfortred for $189!

Have you thought of bringing tires in from www.tiretrends.ca?

Hemi RT - Checked the tires you specified in your post, at tires-easy-ca, and here is what they cost per tire, shipped to your door, taxes included -- $203.00. You would need to have them installed, which is another $75 bucks or so:

Hers is a link to their site showing these tires http://www.tires-easy.ca/start.html

Hope this helps....and oh yeah, I got my Comfort Treads from Fountain Tire for $850 installed, but they were on sale for 25% off at the time. That's another option you might have, wait for some sale prices??

The tires my car came with, the michelins, are great all around... really good tread and performance out of them.

I bought 4 of those once from my Dodge dealer for about $100 apiece USD They are ok but as the wore they became dangerous in the wet. BFG KDWS and the Toyos are better tires IMHO. Also, Nitto or Coopers might be a better choice. Not saying the GY's were junk, they werent, but watch out when they get half worn or more in the rain. That ESP sqiggly came on a lot for me.

I got a set of four GY Comfortreads from a local dealer for U$577 including 8% tax, road hazard, free flats fixes, stem and balancing...hard to beat. Saying all that the tires are good, but not great. I expect a much longer life, but at the cost of just OK handling performance.

Would anyone have any experience with the Falken ZE-912. What I'm looking for is a tire that won't wear out so fast. the Goodyear Assurance tire have a tread warranty of 130,000KM, Falkens 105,000KM. Continental CSS (self sealing) 20,000KM, Love the handling and performance of them but hate the Extreme short life especially when you aren't lighting them up.

Wow $1300 for tires only. I'd sell you my factory SRT rims and tires for $1700 with only 4200km's on them if your interested in 20's. Only problem is there the 3 season F1 tire that is absolutely no good for winter driving. Only reason for selling them is to pay for my two tone paint job.

GY Assurance here at Sam's Club for $124.78 ea. Mine have ~ 20K on them. Look like they're good for 25 more. More that enough grip for me. Good combo of grip and endurance, IMO.

Well Nygil helped me out, Got 4 Falken (good salesman as we originally wantd 2), 225/60X18 for a really good price, I couldn't resist so we drove from Medicine Hat to LeDuc and got them.

It sure is nice being looked after by an ALX member, Thank You for all the help Nygil, it is very much appreciated.

This tire is very qiet and has a tread that looks different but isn't an agreesive looking tread. Rate as an all season I'll have to wait for the little amount of snow we get around here to actually see what they are like in the winter.

Once again, Thanks to Nygil for all his help.

Sounds like you bought the right tires, right on they are sometimes hard to find. Nygil is a great guy and you know if you had a problem he would always give you the right advise. I know AWD was interested in what Nygil had to say when it came to Balancing issues. He does know what he is talking about. He would even show you how to drive those tires right off the rims HEAVY FOOT !!
