    Starscan

I am looking for some help to activate my hands free. I installed U-Connect in my 300C and went to a dealer in Edmonton to have it activated using Starscan. I was told that it would cost me over $300. If anyone has a Starscan available or can suggest an alternative, I would appreciate the help.

Problem is solved. I phoned Legal Motors and was quoted $60 to set it up. Will be out that way next Tuesday and have an appointment.

When I installed mine everything worked but the EVIC, is this a factory system or a dealer install accessory?

That's how Legal is. I won't go anywhere else Dodge wise anyways. Cory ( Service Manager) is an awesome guy as well. Mind you I have a pretty decent relationship with the service and parts department in general. It's a small family run dealership in a nowhere small town. It really makes all the difference because they bend over backwards for customer service. That and they are a 15 minute drive from my house it just seals the deal.

You are one of a couple of people that I have heard speak well of them. That is why I called. I happen to have to go to Redwater but it would be worth the trip anyway. Fuel between Edmonton and Legal isn't $200!

I installed the dealer kit. Just need the sales code added to Chrysler's system (my vin) and the ubin activated. Legal Motors did one the other day in 30 minutes.

    U-Connect & Starscan

    Mr. Bandaid!

Here is a .pdf file of the step by step provided by Mopar supercenter.
"How to turn on the UConnect System using the StarScan"

    http://rah.web.officelive.com/Docume...structions.pdf

Give that to the dealer and this way you'll have it done in 2 minutes instead of 30.

==> one of the reason the dealers charge extra is because they also update your VIN in the National Database has now having the U-connect installed on your vehicle. Increases also the value of your vehicle when they do a cross reference between Blue Book and your VIN in case of an accident, trade-in or sale.

    Hope it helps
    Mario

Another plus for Legal Motors! I was just there last week getting the 100,000 km transmission service done. They quoted me $199, and that's what they charged. Londonderry wanted $399 for the exact same thing. It was done right the first time, with no charge when I came back a week later to ask them to check 1 more time, just to be safe, on the fluid level (no frikin dipstick is stupid).

Good ole Legal. Wow, my little tidbit dealer no one has heard of is starting to get a following. That's good..... doesn't benefit me in anyway but I don't care. They only kinda screwed up one thing for me and that was my exhaust after they did my torque convertor swap. The guy put the mids on tilting downward so the catback had to dip down in the middle. It was only about 2" off the ground. Then they were closing and all wanted to leave. My car was hot off the road test and the tech and I could make the pipes budge so I had to leave it overnight. Just meant I got to drive a 08 SXT Caliber a little longer than I wanted. That CVT in those cars is awful.......... I don't miss that thing. Either way they still get an from me.
