Show of hands for another Edmonton Area M&G

Well as you guys now know I have stepped down from Moderator Status, BUT I am still an active member. I just want to try and get one more Edmonton area M&G together before winter. I know I have the attention of our Southern members already and now I'm asking our Northern members.
The last meet at my place was excellent and I can't say enough thank you's to all the members that showed.
First things first all I want right now is a show of hands from all the members interested in another M&G and then I'll get the ball rolling. For the people that showed to my last M&G they know what to look forward to. It may not be on my land but there are many great places in Edmonton that we can have one.
I'm sure some of you guys are saying why the heck did this guy give up the Mod Status ? Well here are a couple reasons, 1. my car was 50% sold in the fall the dealership has now offered me a deal that would allow me to keep my car and buy my new car so NOW what I am saying is the car stays. I recieved a call from the dealership at 8am this morning and they worked me out a deal that I couldn't refuse. 2. Sometimes I just really don't want to be a leader even though it seems like it I really just want to be just one of the guys. Really by looking at me you sure the heck would wouldn't even think I would even have an intrest in LX's. I look more like a biker that drives a big rusty old truck and doesn't have anything but Harley T-shirts and basicly looks like a BUM !

So anyhow enough B.S. now and lets see a show of hands for this idea I'm trying to put together.

Hey if we can get a decent show of hands in the next couple days I'll start the list. I was thinking maybe in September, NO one will be on holidays and we may get a good turn out, we have to get 20+ M&G one of these days.

I'm just wondering whether or not to set up again at my place. It worked out well last time. We didn't have to worry about the drinking issue like you would in a public park and the BBQ are handy. O ya and I still have 40 more burgers to supply as well. Well lets see how many more reply and I'll make it happen maybe the weekend after the Sept long weekend like Sept 8 or 9th.

Wooo WHoooooo - cough cough - That means I'm in! I am on vacation the last week of August and the first week of September, but will be back in town by that Friday, Sept 7th.....so the 8th or 9th would work for us.

I really liked it at your place for out last meet Mike, but you should know how much you're biting off this time (assuming you learned anything from your first meet)...so take your time before you stick your neck out

If you don't have the time, there must be somewhere in Deadmonton to host this. (once again, I offer up my 2 cents worth, before anyone even asks!)

Side note to David - This would be a good time for me to slide you that bribe I promised you! If we're both going, it's a done deal.

You sure the heck wouldn't see me at that Hooters, I wouldn't even think of parking my car at West Edmonton Mall. That location in Calgary is perfect, it has it's own parking lot.

If the meet doesn't happen at my place it will most likely happen in one of the public parks. I'm going to check to make sure there are no events going on in the city that weekend at any of the parks.

I agree with the Hooters at west ed....by the time we came back out, half our cars would be gone, and the other half vandalized!!! Just a thought, the Don Cherry's on the north side has a pretty big parking lot, the bar is a fairly good size, they have wings and beer. Not to sure how busy they are on weekends and that sort of thing though, but if someone knows someone who works there, we could ask, and maybe weasel a few free wings or jugs?

I was thinking more like Hawrelak Park for it's large parking area, from there we could always cruise to a pub. Cruise down Whyte Ave and maybe end up somewhere like a Boston Pizza with it's own parking lot. There is a Location on Calgary Trail South and about 49Ave that has it's own parking.
