Mods you've done for next to nothing

Well I guess I start seeing I started this thread.

    1. I heard about the cabin filter and seeing I hate the dust in the car I thought I'd do this one first. I went to the dealer to find out about the parts/kit, a not stocked item but was told it would be around $70.00. So I went home, opened the hood to see what was actually involved. I saw the cover that comes off to access the filter so for the heck of it I took it off - Guess what, I already have it so I saved $70.00 and a few scratched knuckles.

    2. In the process of doing the automatic head lite mod. Should take about 10 minutes as I have the eye mounted in the front center of the dash - Cost $0.00 plus a little of my time - Labour cost - $0.00

What inexpensive mods have you done or are contemplating?

Consider a T-Stat and fan mod.

Do a search for the Jim Turner or jaak fan mods. They are cheap and the cooler temps with the t-stat make for better Big bang for only a few bucks.
FRI Econo Heads & FRI Sidewinder: Installed @ BFNY by Hemi31 with special guest Fnkychkn, JBA Shorties, JBA/HHP hi-flow catted mids, stock SRT8 cat-back, C&L CAI.
HUGE thanks to Hemiwagn and HalfFast Performance for making it all possible.

Do the turn signal blink-blink mod, absolutely free.

Search the threads, it was written up by FnkyChkn himself.

I think it is for Magnums only, it causes the front side marker lights to flash with the turn signals.

Just need to swap 2 wires on each side, piece of cake.

David, if you have the sensor up in the middle of the dash by the windshield you can do this. Use 2 nylon trim tools, or go to an RV dealer and ask if you can get a putty tool and cut it in half. The reason for using this tool is to prevent damage; you could use 2 screw drivers if you're careful; and pry off the headlight switch knob, underneath you'll see a couple of little knobs sticking out, remove the right one and put the knob back on. You can check it by covering up the sensor, turn the switch on, and turn to the left past the 'O' and start the car, you headlights should come on. You won't have the 'A' but if you want it you can buy a new H/L switch from the dealer for automatic H/L for about $40.00. hope you can understand this if not just do a search for Headlights in the forum.

By far the cheapest and one of the most dramatic improvements was removing all the moldings and badges. I already had the WD40 and Goo-Gone so the cost was $0. Plus I got to add to the pile of things I've taken off the car, sitting down in the basement. You never know when someone needs a grill or tail light or molding etc etc.

Visor disguisers... de-badge, de-mold, painted brake calipers, new door pins (the locks that go up and down) all are dirt cheap but look great and take no time to do...

The cheapest thing done to my car had to be the moldings, second cheapest would be the tint it was free as well. I moved a hot tub for my friend that owns the tint shop. Another cheap thing I did was spray tint the tail lights for around $15.00 and an hours time.
