Well as those who come around here more then once a month know, Mike, aka: small town srt-8, aka: cable guy has decided to leave us, and with that there is not only the loss of a great guy, but a moderator and leader for our club forum.
Mike has decided that his Charger isn't what he's looking for right now, and that there really isn't any other LX or LY vehicle on the horizon sparking his interest either. Mike did a lot of great things for this club, and what was planned to be an annual event is now a one time thing that a few of us were lucky enough to experience. I'd like to take this time to thank Mike for the assistance he gave me with this club in the very early stages, and for planning and attending some really cool gatherings.
Mike will be removed from the official club list, but will be kept at the bottom as an honorary member for those of us who knew the kind of things he offered the club. I'm sure he'll be by from time to time, with surprise meet visits and such. Who knows, down the road maybe he'll snag another modern mopar just because he misses us! lol.
With the absence of Mike comes an opening for a Moderator position. Even with the limited posting that have been taking place over the summer, there is still work to be done behind the scenes, and I could use another set of eyes to help out. I am going to create a thread in which all members can have a say in who they would like to take the position over and I welcome members to either request the spot for themselves or nominate others. There is no harm in asking for the spot if you want it, and if you feel someone deserves it, post and tell us why.
I'll give the thread 2 weeks to build up names, and I'll take the top 3 choices and create a poll for the final choice. I'll be sending out an email so that the members who are seldom online can have a say as well, but, they will have to come online to submit their choice.
I have to say, I am so happy with the way things are going, and with the response that the club had at the Airdrie show. Jim's contributions to the club have really improved our ability to get noticed, and I just wanted to take the time to thank him for his efforts. Mike has requested that Jim be one of the people put forward for the open moderator position, and so if he is ok with being nominated, I will include him in the "New Moderator needed... Apply within" thread, LOL.
Thanks again to everyone for making this club so great, we may have had small showings at the meets, but I need to keep reminding myself that this club only really started taking off this year, expanding province wide in May, so we're on a good track. As long as we continue to have quality people and a lot of fun, this thing will just keep growing and getting better.
Take care everyone, and thanks for taking this crazy idea I had in my head and turning it into something so great. I look around my house and see all the flags, banners and posters and can't believe it really took off, and that so many great people want to be a part of it.
Chris
