    Beware: Canuck Motorsports springs

Just a heads up for those here who have thought of using Canuck Motorsports lowering springs. They advertise and sell on ebay under the ID of "springman98". Here's an example: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...DME:L:RTQ:CA:1

Ad states 1.7" front and 1.3" rear drop. Installed a set and it's more like 2" front and 2-1/8th in the back. They've offered a refund but I don't relish the thought of pulling it all apart again, taking the front struts in to swap the springs, putting it back together, sending the spings back, waiting for a refund, ordering a new set from someone else and doing it all over again.

So be prepared to sacrifice more clearance than you thought you would if you go with these springs.

    Buyer beware.

Sounds like they're pretty comparable to the Eibach Sportlines. Don't they all settle a little lower than the advertised drop?

Dude just my opinion but send them back and get known springs like eibach, hotchkis, etc. I'm not sure what $165 canadian is but apparently they either gave you the wrong kit, or their stuff is just crap. Nothing is more expensive than regret....
Buy new springs first then swap them out with these and send them back.

    Here's what their ad states:

Not sure if the R/T has the same dampners as the SRT-8, but if not, I know when I put them on my 300C with the 1.6 Eibachs, it brought it up a bit. The stock dampners are way to spongy to run the drop springs.

    Just a suggestion.

Hey Asp Man - that 2" drop in Calgary may be tough. Is your ride a daily driver?

    Thanks for the input, guys.
Yes, it is a daily driver. I don't usualy have it loaded up, but on vacation with a couple more people, lugage, full tank, it's pretty low. I got the right kit, it's just about 1/2" too low all around, if it had dropped it as advertised, I would have been happy. I'll probably live with it for the summer as I just do not have the time to F with it.
I thought perhaps shimming the rear springs up a tad, has anyone done this?

2" is just a small bit too much. Yes, it is my daily. Don't get me started on the condition of the roads here!

Good luck Asp Man, no - shimming is not possible with springs that I'm aware of, maybe not safe either.

They kinda screw into rubber stops... I don't think there's a safe way to shim them.
