Another one bites the dust....RIP 300c...

Well, last night I finally convinced my wife to bring our 2 kids (2yrs, 2months) out to watch me run a few passes at castrol raceway for the first time. unfortunately it never got to happen. as i was stopped just outside castrol, turning left off the highway i was rear-ended by a cavilier doing highway speeds. she ran full out into the back of our 300c with the 2 kids in the back and my wife in the car. the impact was so hard it ripped the headrest off my wife's car, ripped the dash trim off and buckled the roof. our car was thrown 180 degrees and slid around a while before coming to a stop.
everyone was okay, we spent most of the night in the hospital getting the boys checked out, and the worst injuries are to me where my head either hit the steeting wheel or the b-pillar (driver of the other car walked away too)
castrol staff were on the scene righ away, they brought out a bunch of staff and their personal ambulance and brought out blankets and stuffed animals for our boys. i cant thank or praise them enough.
anyways, ill be in the market for another 300c (maybe SRT) here pretty soon once insurance gets everything straightened away. We left the car at castrol, when we were getting in the ambulance they were just hooking up their tow truck to drag it off the middle of the highway. it's probably still there right now. I'll try and get some pictures up once i get them.

Oh Jeez- sorry to hear about this! I'm glad everyone checked-out okay (big kudos to the track staff from me, too!). Keep aware for aches, pains, etc. that develop in the next few days- these can be the first signs of long-term problems you do NOT want!

Didn't your airbags deploy? Seems to me they should have...

Best Wishes to your family, and for the new car search!

Sorry to hear about the accident! Glad everyone came thru with no injuries, I think the LX body is well engineered. Thanks God for that.

On another note, a friend in Windsor has a 2007 Black SRT 300C with Mopar CAI and Exhaust for sale. Black with blacked out windows all options for sale. When you get fixed up with your insurance PM me and I can set you up with his PH #.

WOW! Whole family was protected in a massive rearender... glad you and all are okay. Sorry about the car though. Keep a watch for longer-term neck and back goblins though.

Very sorry to hear about this incident - I am glad you are all ok and went to the hospital to get everything checked out and documented. I hope insurance pulls through soon and you are able to hunt down a replacement.

WOW, Very sorry to hear about the accident, Glad every one seems OK, keep an eye on those young ones to make sure their alright and watch that good lady of yours and yourself for any complications that may set in.

It's unfortunate that this happened and I hope the insurance company looks after you but I would contact a lawyer just in case. Now is the time to look for a little more power.

I'm sure I speak for all the ALX members when I say if there is anything you need or help with anything just let us know and it will be there.

    Keep well

Glad you and your family weren't hurt seriously! A true testament to how these cars are built. Like veryone else has mentioned, keep a close eye on the aches and pains that develop in the next few days.
Hope everything works out and you can get your car replaced. Hope the family does well and has no long term injuries.

That's awful. I didn't make it out last night myself as I wasn't feeling it( and I had a Break and Entry to deal with) but still. Hope you are ok along with your boys and your wife. I know that it always takes a couple days to feel anything but hopefully you just end up with something small or better yet.... nothing at all. Insurance is such a pain but this should be pretty cut and dry, rear end collisions generally are.

I guess if you had really wanted an SRT8 it's a horrible way to get it, but this opens the door. Best wishes.

thanks so much everyone. my family really appreciates it. im starting to feel the whiplash set in now so ill be heading to get checked out again soon. i took our 2 month old back to the hospital this morning to get checked out again because he threw up his breakfast, but everyone at the hospital is pretty sure everything's okay and that it's probably related to him getting his 2 month shots about 8 hours before the crash.
i still havent been able to track down my car, licence, registration or insurance info though since i didnt get the officer on duty's name or anything. i assume my car is in an ampound in nisku or leduc. I'll try and get down this weekend for pics and to rob whatever parts i can from it (with any luck my srt design wheels will still be salvagable or repairable, but i know the rear tires definately are punctured)

Wow Sean sorry to hear about the accident, I didn't even get to see your car clean lol.
Happy to hear the family are doing good. Hope the neck pains don't last long. I'm sure you will find a great car to replace the 300C, pretty sure you may know a few people at a local Dodge dealership lol
    Best of luck Bro.
