San Diego section President needed for SoCalLXClub

please nominate 3 people to be the San Diego section President to organize events, meet and greets, race days, etc. for San Diego.

I do not have the time.
That is why I put together the list of events so somone could run with it...
since that time, the three events have had the continued "splintered" get together feel.
I don't even know if anyone showed up for the MOPAR night in Chula Vista tonight. I know I didn't even think about it as there were no posts or threads to get together.

I nominated someone and was very serious about it and his position.
But there has been no posts here by that person. So that indicates to me that he doesn't want it. Fair enough, I am not calling that person out by no means - I just thought he would really want to do it as he has a passion for it like no other.

So that being said, who should it be?
Here are my 3:

1. SDCARGUY
2. 1fast300
3. hemi_charger

What are yours?

Let's get this done by the end of the week.
We need direction and agreement for the SD events quickly so people can make plans accordingly.
Or...
we can continue to have these quasi psuedo "maybe" get togethers, "after the fact" we find out meets, and the "let's not tell anyone" cruises...
I am embellishing here big time - but I hope everyone understands the point I am trying to get across.
There are over 1,000+ LX's that roll throughout SD county everyday - let's start representing as a group at car events together.

I think we need to get a list of the locations we want to meet at and do a weekend cruz check them all out then vote on the top places. The list you posted was great but I think some of the location are not suitable for us as a club and some are just not there anymore.

As for a president any of your 3 would be great if they wanted to do it and had the time! If someone wants the position let it be heard if its more then one we can do a short poll for voting....

I will stick with my choice for location which is Dalton's my reason for this: 1) they want us there
2) they will block off parking for us
3) they have good food
4) if we have 50 guests they will block off the patio for us which over looks the parking lot
5) its between OC, San Diego, and people in the Temecula area.

I plan to keep going to the monthly car show they have allot of cool people and sweet rides 10 bucks for all you can eat ribs burgers and dogs tader salad also includes free drinks (Can Soda, Bottled water) and any money made goes to charity..........

Interest is there CB, and I did make a post for the August 3rd event and NOBODY showed up.....but I had fun racing though

Racing and Dyno might be fun for some of you but its not for everybody! In my book the 3rd was the first Friday of the month which is a long standing LX and now SoCalLX meet at Beach Burger I try not to miss it...I'm down for other meets but trying to race my daily driver just isn't worth it since my job is 75 % travel give or take from branch to branch without my car im screwed in a bad way...

We need to find about three or so good solid places for "M&G's" and stick to them as meets! If you guys want to have dyno days or race days thats cool but thats all they should be.........If you guys want to do a Cruz night in Chula Vista cool but its still not a meet and in reality how many SoCal LXers could make it in the middle of the week...

I up for racing dyno or park eat and chat its all fun for me!!! Im gonna talk to cheeburger today if there open for meets there its kind of in the middle. as for daltons where is that? Since summer is coming to an end I think a MEET an GREET BBQ would be awesome either at a BBQ resturant (Phils or Famous daves) or at the bay and we get DREW to cook!!

We are SoCalLX and I don't think that we need to be breaking off in sections since we just started this entire thing? Maybe I am wrong but I think it is to early for something like this.

Daltons is off the 78 and nordal...lets do this if cheeburger will let us meet them bam we have three spots which will be

1) Daltons
2) Cheeburger
3) fudgeruckers

these can be standard M&G spots....if someone want to throw in a dyno day, race day, or a cruz night cool deal those interested can sign up and go

Everyone please remember that we used to have MnG's, Dyno Days & Racing events before SoCalLX was formed. Don't let SoCalLX deter all of us from still having fun.

Yes a single location in San Diego as a regular monthly MnG would be desirable as we have at Beach Burger. But by no means does that mean not to have other meets, we want LX's on display and on the tracks all over SoCal. One location as a SoCalLX San Diego Chapter site and many others so we can get in front of people in different parts of San Diego to let people know we (LX Community not SoCalLX) are here.

Yes we all have different likes and dislikes as far as what and how we want to do our cars, thats our diversity!

This is an OPEN discussion on how to get things rolling and somewhat organized in San Diego.

Seriously, we can't let the PT Clubs in that area look better than us!

I generally stay out of this kind of discussion, especially since I don't even live in the area in question, but I have to agree with Noid. Why get all "official" here?

I never did understand the need for an "official" structure for most of the stuff we do anyway. (I've since learned the potential value of it for some of the more grandiose schemes, however.)

That said, everybody on the forum has always had the ability to simply pick a location and date, start a thread, make a list and GO! Chris (cbutler) has "led the charge" on some great get-togethers over the past few years by doing just that.

Time for some more LXers to step up and "have a go". If nobody responds, if there is little interest, so-be-it. It was probably NOT the best idea anyone's ever had. So what? Big deal. Don't take it personally. Get some feedback. Try something else.

It's pretty simple guys. DON'T post a "let's do something" thread. DON'T post a "whadda you guys think about" thread. DON'T post a dumb poll.

Don't wait for consensus. Trust me: It won't happen. No amount of "officialness" will make it happen, either.

As the illustrious Nike marketing gods say: JUST DO IT! It's a lot of fun, and a great learning experience, and will yield some great memories for anyone who steps up.

Id just like to get some meets going down here thats all. Everything is up north like beach burger and ricky an ronnies. Id like to make the same for san diego like cheeburger just to mix it up as well.

Cool Im waiting for a call back from the owner of Daltons to make sure the dates are free and clear....I will be setting up a monthly M&G which will take place the third Saturday of the month........Hope to see all you guys there!
