Got my first ticket

Man this really sucks,they said my music was to loud,which it wasnt,they wrote me up for a license plat cover which really isnt dark and wrote me up for my tags and they are in the mail and should be at my house anyday now,this really sucks

How true it is....my first ticket was for 63 in a 25......nailed by a M/C cop....soon after I got into 4X4's and the local cruise. Man, talk about being hassled.

Yeah my friend is a cop and he signed two of them off and tomorrow I need to figure how much the ticket will be for the loud music and I have a clean background so im hoping for the best

What gets me is how do they measure the level of sound to consider it to loud...what does it say in the code book anyone know? when is loud to loud...

They need to measure it with a deciable meter I would suppose. I mean loud is subjective and not really fair to one party or the other. IT should be thrown out once they see the fix-it tickets were all taken care of in a timely fashion.

Luckily you have a friend that can take care of them. Technically any license plate cover is illegal no matter how dark or clear it is.

What gets me is how do they measure the level of sound to consider it to loud...what does it say in the code book anyone know? when is loud to loud...

When I was working for my local PD about 6 years back I asked that same question and apparently if it can be heard from over 75 ft away you can be written up for it. Not sure if that has changed or not or if it was specific to my city.

fyi if the tags are in the mail in other words the dmv cashed the check your good to go.... i had a couple cops try and give me tickets for that and straight told them sorry dmv cashed my check by law im allowed to drive the vehicle... they dont like it but will let you go with a well maybe you should send it in early....... of course they can and will run the plate to make sure registration is up to date

Why do you need the music up that loud?

seriously... i think its completly disrespectful when people have their music blarring loud, or bumping so loud it shakes my car...

I had a nice stereo in my lightning, but i took the steps to make sure the sound STAYED in my truck (Elemental Design eDead and other sound deadners)... my truck was almost silent from the outside with the music up... but once you opened the doors it would rattle your teeth...

Sucks about the tickets... but if you dont want to be harassed in a down economy, keep the music down, add some sound deadening or keep the windows up...

Your ears will thank you for keeping it down... as will I...

I have a neighbor who insists on keeping his Banda Paisa Music (no racial, it really is Banda music... and he is a cowboy) all the way up until he gets into the garage... no matter what time of night..its disresepctful... and bugs the crap out of me...
