    Big Bear Cabin Suggestions

I am looking at heading to big bear for a get-a-way the 19th-23 of this month.

I have been looking online at cabin rentals, and was wondering if anyone here has any recommendations. I hate going strictly off pictures posted online.

There will only be 2 of us, so don't need to find a huge log cabin, even a studio would work, but don't want to pay a grand for 4 nights in a place that's falling apart, and be in for a surprise when we pull up.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions on places to stay or avoid.

Thats a good site, lots of people that rent out their personal cabins...

OR you can try a resort company... lots of those up there too...

Companies that take large huge cabins and break them down into 4-10 smaller hotel room style cabins.. some have hot tubs on the deck etc...

I will be up there this weekend too!!! of course my buddy has a cabin that he and his parents built... but i will keep an eye out for some LXers...

ok, like most LXer's in the south, putting winter tires on means getting out the drag slicks....
(no I do not own drag slicks)

I am currently running Toyo Proxes S/T tires on the Daytona... I am not going to get snow tires for the sake of one week.

Do you think I can make it up to big bear (and back down) in a Daytona without snow tires with the weather out there right now, or should I just rent a truck? (renting a truck is still cheaper than buying tires).

I am the biggest advocate out there for having the proper tires in the winter, but for 5 days, I really don't want to fork out the money for snow tires that will never see the light of day after this trip.

No need for tires this weekend... if it was 2 weeks ago DEFINETLY...

Its been 55-65 up there all week... if your driving in the daylight your good... id be careful for black ice at night... its dips into the 20s...

Im rocking my Honda up there tomorrow am... no chains... just mobbin it... roads are all clear for the ski resorts...

so yeah... no issues on stock tires...
