Just my two cents on what to expect (The wife is due any day now so my modding is done for the forseeable future)

    - Will take the better part of a day (Figuring in breaks and such)
    - If you have large hands you will have to drop the engine mounts to access the upper middle bolts on both sides (Stating they suck is an understatement). I did the entire job from underneath. Hell I can't even see the headers from the top. It took me close to two hours just to thread the top bolts.
    - Tools Tools Tools: Extensions, swivel sockets, stubby ratcheting wrenches will all help to access some of the bolts. All of the header bolts are 13MM but some of the original exhaust manifold bolts are a bit bigger. I want to say 15MM but I could be wrong.

Overall not technically difficult at all, just a time consuming PITA. Once done, you will never want to do it again.

If you are contemplating getting the heads done in the forseeable future
you may want to wait and do both at the same time.

    Enjoy!

That's the best advice anyone could ever give.

Me, I'd never do a header install again without pulling the heads.

You guys are scaring the crap out of me with the heads comment! I have my new JBA's in the garage and just went to sears to stock up on swivels, extentions, ratching wrenches and the like, so I think I'm good to go. What you have said Cam and brklnmag is much appreciated. The only shop in town I trust wants $450 to install'm!! That's my mid pipes right there!
I'll be doing this install tomorrow and will update on how it went. I just wish I lived in NY...seems like I might have some help!

The JBA installation instructions say to remove the engine mounts, are you saying that if you can reach up there that this step may not be necessary?

Naw, now don't be that way. It's not hard, it's time consuming. Pull the stinking mounts, it's easy and it'll make your life mucho better. Only do one side at a time. It's like this, installed headers only.....8-10hrs. Install with head removal........4 hrs but you have to buy head gaskets and head bolts, there goes another $150 and do an oil change. So what is your time worth.

You can do it bud, just make sure there are no windows around when ya start throwing wrenches.

100% corect, the hardest bolt to get to is near/under the altinator braket.

took me and my buddie 8 hours with brakes and food.
