Starting my search for a enclosed trailer

Being I'm starting to look at running my car a few events I thought maybe I should think about an enclosed trailer.
After breaking at Firebird and waiting 3 hours for a tow truck in the same town I live in, and breaking at SpeedWorld and having Ron and Maureen tow me in their enclosed trailer to AZ Power & Sound while I drove 1bad4dr.

I recently purchased a 2007 Tundra 5.7 DoubleCab with the 10600lb tow package. So the next step is a trailer.

I'm not seeing much on line for enclosed race car trailers. The prices are all over the place.

I don't really want to trailer, but it's more of a precaution against breaking and have no way to get my car home. Hopefully I will have HD halfshafts in the car before the next event. If not, I will still run heads up with my 295 RSA's and not the DR's.

If the halfshaft issue is resolved, I'm sure something else may break, especially when I kick it up to a 150 shot. LOL

..what is the status of the Half shafts...you are getting the 1st set to try out if I remember correctly and if you can't break them then they go for sale...correct?

Jeremy called me last week. I think a week or two is the real time frame now.

    Trailer

I might know of an enclosed trailer for sale, Hal. It's a pretty nice rig that a freind let me use to haul my Grand National to and from events in CA. I can put you in touch with him if interested.

I like Pace, torsion bar suspension, nice quality all the way around. My enclosed Pace has close to 60K miles on it, we use it on jobs. That thing is in perfect shape. I can't tell you how many times it's been over loaded, tows as well as the day I bought it. Haulmark is good too. That's what Ron bought. I happen to think the Pace is nicer looking.

But you have one disadvantage, the tundra has the capacity to tow a 24 footer with your ride, but make sure and get a swaybar. The shorter wheelbase of your truck will not make for a very pleasent experiance towing in the wind.

I would suggest an open trailer if your up for it.

I have been gettiing quotes for a custom 36ft fifthwheel...............ouch!!. This one will have to wait for a while. I'm gonna get a open trailer next month and install a rack up front and the fiberglass wind shield. At least I wouldn't have to climb out the window.

I agree on the swaybar for your truck.I want an enclosed as well but I think I am gooing to settle for an open trailer.Just easier in the long run and this is not a show car by any means.

This trailer I built to haul by Bobcat. I bought a standard 18ft steel deck, cut the dove tail into it, built the ramp set-up and then welded 2" X 2" X 1/4" rail all the way around. She's a fricking rock. But she don't fit my ride worth a crap. Loading her was a nightmare. I only had an inch between the ramps and the head lights.

I couldn't agree more, Hal, that Tundra is one hell of a truck but if you can get away with an open trailer, I would do that instead. I've pulled both with my 06 Dodge Ram CTD and the open is a much easier, and probably safer, pull.
