The best places to hold shows are those places that not only have tons of empty parking for cars in the show, but also parrking for those attending the show to see cars. IF there is also local food and drink business there to support even better.

"A workshop is a Temple where we invoke the blessings of the Gods of invention.
And seek refuge from the heretics who know not the joy of creating something unique."
I was thinking what about Phoenix College, I have seen swap meets there before. You would have to purchase insurance though.
Looks like it is $300 for four hours, not sure if that includes insurance.

I already sent KC a pm offering my help in any way that I can. In another life I did promotional and event planning work, as well as had the privilege of running a car club. While I am definitely no expert, I do have some advice.
Even planning for November, that is a very short time to plan something of this magnitude. Securing a location is of the highest priority. I have a connection at Celebrity that is trying to negotiate a deal for me to use that space if we want. I also know South Mt. Community College has a large parking lot that they would lend out if I asked. I have someone asking their boss if there is space at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Of course a track location would be best, but usually they don’t hand them out to good causes. Places like a church or even local business are more likely to donate.
Next would be to determine what type of car show. Mopar, Late Model, Late and Classic, Bikes, etc.. The more wide open you go, the more you will have attend. Vendors are extremely important as well. Without them, you will basically make nothing donation wise other than possible money in a donation box from spectators.
I would highly recommend a day time only car show. As most of you have experienced, the later an event goes into the night, the dumber people tend to become. Without some sort of security, you are just asking for trouble once it gets dark. If anything, the AZLX group can plan an “afterparty” at a local watering hole. Plus with running a car show, the cleanup afterwards is very time consuming and I doubt anyone wants to stay until the wee hours of the morning just to do that.
I know what my ideal car show would be, but we have to look at this from a business standpoint. We wouldn’t be attending the car show, we would be running it. Especially with this being a first time car show as a “official” club, the KISS method should win out every time. If you need anything from me, I will be more than willing to help. I have a lot of connections and will see what I can do to utilize them.

I think a meet would be very beneficial. If I can request it be on a sat or sun that would be great!

I meet would be great. Sundays are good because I don't have work or anything else going on.
Sunday the 8th would work. What time is good and what is the best central location for everyone interested?
Sundays are out for us, but we would be happy to support, advertise and do anything elkse we can to get it planned.
I'd be up for a meeting as well. I have some ideas that Ive already ran by KC. Sundays or Mondays are the best for me but this Sunday, the 8th, is Easter and Im spending the day with my family and parents. Any other Sun/Mon would be great though. Keep us posted.
