Major situation here. Car won't come out of park and get "Service Park Assist Module" on EVIC. Stuck in my driveway.

I just searched the manual, that did not pop up. Do you have any other codes??.
From wild to extra wild we got you covered with crap ya never knew you needed.
The first 6.1 transformation and it all went down hill from there.

Transmission won't shift out of park; anyone any idea???
Ok, just got done reading several things that could be the problem. Luckly, all of them have associated codes. Go do the key thingy for the EVIC display. Turn the key rapidly between on and AUX (do nt start the car). You need to do this three times and then you will see the codes pop up in the EVIC. Let us know what shows up.

ensure stoplamps are functioning properly. if not, check fuse 19 in PDC (power distribution center/rear fuse box). in the meantime, you can use the override button on the side of the shifter to get you mobile.
that thread was for 42RLE transmission shifter. BTSI (brake transmission shift interlock) operation is different for NAG1 transmission.

Fullofit convinced me that I should hook up fan switch and I was working on that circuit. When I got the car it had a blade connector pushed in along side of fuse 9 (15 Amp). I wired the fan switch with an Add-A-Circuit on fuse 13 (previously empty) so I figured I didn't need the blade connector stuck on fuse 9 and pulled it out. Turns out the fuse panel was distorted from jamming the blade connector into it and after I pulled it out the no. 9 fuse was not making contact with the fuse panel and I must have had an open circuit.
This turned out to be a pain in the ass as the park assist module along with certain brake circuits are on this fuse. When I started the car I got an EVIC message "Service Park Assist Module." The car wouldn't come out of park and I wasn't going anyplace.
FIX: Jammed the blade connector back into fuse 9 along side the fuse blade. That reestablished the circuit and everything works again.
BAD NEWS: I've got that stupid brass blade connector sticking out of fuse 9.
GOOD NEWS: My fan switch now works. I've tapped into fuse 13 so I can continue to run the fan after I shut the car down.
Thank you all for your responses. I was sweating this for a while.

So there is an interact between the brakelights and the shifter?
Oh those Germans!
The wealth of information available on this forum is amazing. Pulled the plastic liner out of the rectangular cup to the right of the shifter and there was the pink handle of the interlock override. Thanks again, fnkychkn, that could come in very handy if I ever need it again.

Jack,
I am happy to see you got that taken care of. When we were at the last event and you asked me about this, I had no idea that it would put you in such a tight spot. I hope the mod works well enough to justify the increase in blood pressure.
all the best,
