East side taco shop...

I have no vested interest in this other than I like me some tacos and like to share my favorite haunts when they deserve it.

El Patron Restaurant on Lindsay and Broadway has the best damned tacos in town... PERIOD. I'm sure there's plenty of folks here that love tacos like I do and I figure this is the place you should be getting them. The dude that runs the place is on his game. He makes killer tacos and burritos to order. You want it spicey? Just ask... he'll make 'em that way No cilantro... no problem. All of the food is made fresh daily on site and most of it right there in front of you after you order. It's a great place to eat and I highly recommend it to anybody out here on the east side.

My favorite place (to a fault) is Someburros, with now 4 locations, in Tempe, Chandler, and Mesa.

Someburros? Really? I went there (Tempe Kiwanis Park location) with my boss a couple of times. Never again. Salsa (if you consider tomato sauce with nothing in it to be salsa) in a squeeze bottle just doesn't cut it. There are much better mexican restuarants, with real salsa, not that far from there. Manuels on Broadway, and Rositas on University come to mind.

The best Mexican food I know is at the Serranos in downtown Chandler.

Julio G's (several locations) is also very tasty.

Sorry, but I love Someburros. I have probably eaten well over 1000 burros there. I know, I know, I have a little problem, but it does not bother me.

Someburros is "ok" Mexican food. It's what I consider Mexican fast food... like Tacobell, DelTaco and Filiberto's. This place is similar becuz it's fast but the quality of food "IMO" is way above par for these types of places. Carolina's in Phoenix is another place like this, where the food is just DAMNED GOOD.

My favorites taco shop used to be at Tower plaza. COuld never remember the name but we called it the taco stand. They had the best Baja style grub. They closed for lack of business. I hate to see it happen to this place so I'm putting the word out there that they got great grub. The Bistek Ranchero is amazing too.

Oh noooooooo! Taco Bell and Del Taco does not actually serve food.

Someburros' food is a few steps up from Taco Bell or Del Taco, although I would say their salsa in a squeeze bottle is comparable to a Taco Bell mild sauce packet........
