Call to action RE: jtl13f James Lindsey

So there is a call to action for James Lindsey (jtl13f) It is nice to see all are keeping his loss at the top of our threads.

Here at the Arizona LX Club I have been working on a major event for the last three weeks. It will take a little more time to get everything in order, but we are quickly moving toward seeing a memorial fund up and functioning to benefit the family of our fallen member. It is our goal to make it a permanent fund for the benefit of any Gold Star Family in need. I have requested the help of every vendor here on the forum and have already had some great commitments from the following

    1. Mile High Arizona (not a vendor but they got the ball rolling and that lead to the letter.)
    2. MomsR/T
    3. Beast 2
    4. tommyzdesign
    5. Cleveland Pick-A-Part
This is the letter they were responding to, all are considering how they can best serve the two efforts.

Greetings are extended to all by the “crazy crew” here in Arizona.

I am one of the members of the Arizona LX Club, on the forum I am known as fullofit_ or full for short. I am also known as Joe Abrahams.

I am writing you today, along with all of the site vendors to ask for a little help. We want to have fun with our cars as often as we can. Here in Arizona, that is a all year long event. We have been able to do a few nice things along the way and now that we are an official club we wish to take a more direct path to helping others.

Currently we are working hard to put together a complete package to raffle off on the forum to raise some money for our fallen member James Lindsey (jtl13f) surviving family. Also there is a drive to help complete his car.

We are also doing all we can for a local family that suffered an awful loss.http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=62996
The car show is really a show down between the ford mustang drivers and the LX Crew. I hope to be able to proudly contribute as much as our close knit family here will be able to muster.

I am writing to all vendors today in hopes that I can find a donations of goods or funds to help with these two projects. They will be only the first of many to come.

I would love to be able to structure our raffle for James with a first, second and third prize, as well as a grand prize. It would be nice to help out with the car show with some prizes for the show, and some prizes for the race portion of the event. Our club is young, but we are not a slight bunch by any means. http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=60420

Our events have a large draw and we have a most talented crew of photo and video personnel

We have the ability to motivate and on occasion do communicate our ideas well.

We hope to become something special,
Some say we are, we think were only getting started.

Please consider helping us to help others.

    Wishing you well,
    All the best,

Now today I took my family to the Dub show at the phoenix convention center Where our friends at G.A.M.E. pointed me in the direction of many vendors. I had positive responses from many of them. Each that I had the opportunity to speak with received my inquiry well and asked me to contact them. They all cautioned me that it takes a bit of time to process these types of efforts. Those willing to lend a hand at the DUB show were:
    1. G.A.M.E.
    2. Chronic car audio
    3. /\LPINE electronics of America, inc
    4. Meguiar's
    5. Grip Tuning.com
    6. Larry Miller Dodge
I spoke to as many people as I could, and none turned me away, I just did not have time to visit all the vendors. I was so busy in fact that I did not even have time to look up our very own tommiezdesigns.

The items we secure here will be used in packages in a raffle. We hope to have the first, second, third and Grand prize lined up by the middle of May. I have located help with all the legal issues that surround this thanks to Margy Bons and her open invitation to work with OPERATION HOMEFRONT and many other charitable foundations. She has pointed us in the right direction, and is a most wonderful Gold Star Mom.

I have spent the last few weeks working on this myself; I have had some help from G.A.M.E. with planning the next event. They have made a gracious offer to host, all we have to do is pick the date and time.

I have learned a lot from this effort. Tonight at the first Arizona LX Club official business meeting I openly discussed this with the members that attended. I am very fortunate that in our tight knit group I will find much help with this from here out.

We passed two books off to the LILX Club tonight at our meeting. One is the prayer book for James, the other is a book for condolences to the all the families of Virginia Tech. The ever wonderful Barbra took position of the books, and picture. She will take them to her husband Jonzmagnum so they can be signed at a yet to be announced event, and sent on to another local club. Once all the clubs that wish to participate have signed, it will be sent to Iraq for his unit to view and sign. Once returned to me from Iraq, I will assemble all the digital media that we have gathered from every signing event and then everything will be presented to his family.

If you have any items you wish to add to the prize category please pm me, and if you wish to donate cash please follow the link at the top of the page

I will get some pictures up soon

    All the best,
    Now drive on

Excellent job, Joe and hats off to the entire AZLX club. Your efforts are what makes this forum the great place that it is today......a 'family' of enthusiasts with hearts of gold!

I'm honored to be in receipt of these books for James and Virginia Tech, as soon as my wife arrives home safely this evening.

The LILX club will be setting up an event for all interested to sign these books and pass them on to the next LX club. We will strive to gain interest and participation in this very generous effort, Joe. I look forward to speaking with you and the next club representative very soon.

    Warmest regards,
    John

Good stuff. I'm glad you're taking the lead.

Sorry I couldn't make it. The kid was swimming all day and I got left with him dead tired last night.
