Anyone Good At Vinyl & Blacking Out Chrome With Blackout Tape?

I bought black vinyl inserts for just the spokes on the GCSRT8 awhile back and still have yet to install them. Anyone in AZLX good at vinyl? I could come to you or you can come to my pad if ya like. Free admission to the zoo lol. We could do it early in the morning or late at night due to the heat.

I'm also thinking of changing things up and murdering my Steel Blue baby a bit, but not completely as I'm not powdercoating the wheels. I'm torn..........so give me some suggestions or tell me your thoughts.

Here's a pic of a murdered Steel Blue GCSRT8. I think it looks suhweet!

Hey I was thinking bout blacking out the chrome trim around my widows at the doors and on the door molding. You can kind of see the chrome on the 300 in the background of his pic. Would this be something I could use instead of pulling them all off and painting them?

I think you could do it, but as far a durability I dont know how long it will last, I had spoken with Sam @ Streetgrafx about doing the door frames to make it look like 1 big window and he said he could do it but it wouldnt last because of the fact you have to wrap the trim and vinyl will lift over time when applied like that.

I would say your best bet if you only want black is to find someone with a magnum that wants the chrome and swap them.

Thx Nate didn't realize the 300 and mag could be swapped like that. Ill have to look into it. I hate chrome and I guess it looks ok on the silver steel but I want everything accented in black but also scared it won't look good.

The tape or vinyl would probably last a year at best, but I'm good with that.

Post up a thread here in the AZ section you may find someone local who will swap with you.

On the vinyl thing, I have run it on my door frames and C pillars, on two different Mags, close to a couple years each. They are showing no signs of fading or wear. There is no doubt that paint is better, although I see a lot of folks running vinyl stripes with no problem, here in the extreme AZ desert.

I have a set of black lower window trim that I would love to swap...let's see if I can find them.

I smile because i have no idea whats going on.
My friends call me JONN (usually).
