Visiting LXer coming to Chicago (From Canada)

We are members of the Alberta LX club

My husband and I are coming to Chicago this weekend for the National Food Show downtown from the 15 to the 20th. we are staying downtown. Are there any must do car related things one can do or stores that are good for shopping for stuff for the car.
Were are the best places to eat (diners or drive ins) we are both chef's
