Tire split!!!!

My wife was entering the garage and noticed I had two long splits in my sidewall of right front tire(Goodyear Eagles). They are only a year old. It split about a half an inch from the rim. One split was about 6" and the other was about 4" long. Replaced all four with BF-Goodrich 245/55/18's. I tried 45's but they were about 2" shorter then the stock tire (225/60/18). The 55's are almost exact to stock height, but much wider! Like the look!
What was odd, when I was waiting for my car, another guy came in with the same problem and same type tire, and his also were only a year old! What's going on at Goodyear?

Yep! Me too! I go to Gainesville and Clearwater often for my doctor visits and That could have been bad news if it came apart on the freeway! Hey Bob, I ran into one of our fellow LX members at the Albertson's car show last Saturday. I think his name is Chris, I could be wrong on that. He knows you, silver Magnum, black strips, SRT rims, now has the Cuda grill! Looks sharp!! He is with the Sherrif's department!!

He is recovering from back surgery, you guys have something in common.

No it didn't rain. Was very nice that night! I'll have to remember his name! So we have 2 Matt's in the family! Yep, lunch would be good. He told me about his back injury! Thanks for the shout Ladybreeanna, I had all four replaced last Friday! I told Matt about the meets at Friendship Plaza on the 1st Friday of the month, but we got rained out on that one. Now there is another group meeting at BigLots! Was a great turnout too! I'll have to ask the wife what day they meet and how often, as she's the one that found them! She's turning out to be quite the Gar Buff!!!!

I saw a sign over at Advance Auto Parts near the new Wal-Mart, it said there is a car show every wednesday night (6PM) at some pizza place on 200, maybe that was it??

What's going on at Goodyear?

I dunno, But apparently they cant seem to get it right, at 30,000 I put on brand new set of stock Goodyear Comfort treads, I now have 43,000 and have had all 4 tires replaced twice, The service manager seems to think the kevlar is acting up, I Dunno damn those good years. So he was gonna replace them again but switched to another make, Oh well I got 13,000 out of them and a brand new set of stock conti's, They seem to be fine. I guess Tony Stewart was right .......

I didn't like the stock Continentals, I have always liked Goodyear, but I changed to another brand this time. After sitting at the tire shop and having someone else come in with the same exact problem, I said "No more Goodyears for my Maggie!"

How did Matt's surgery go? I know he was going to have it, did they determine if they are retiring him yet? I know 4 back surgeries is what retired from from the Sheriff's office a few years ago.
