S.E. Guys How About a Day Trip???
(I stuck this on the end of the card post and now figure it deserves a life of its own)
To the Keys of course!!
How about a day trip to Bahia Honda State Park? It's one of my favorite hangouts, just past the 7 mile bridge so everyone will get lots of great lower keys scenery and picture taking backgrounds. Leave really early some Saturday morning so we can grab a pavilion on the isolated north end for some beach eatin' & swimming. Head back 4-5 pm and a good time will be had by all.
If the consensis prefers a stay over, SugarLoaf Key Lodge Lodge (about 12 mi north of Key West) has reasonable rates, good parking, restraunt, tiki bar, pool, marina and likes to work with car clubs.
You guys call it!

my god that sounds like a journey.....but a fun one!!!!! a weekend would be great!!! i know you had mentioned this prior and we would definitely have to make it in far advance so other would be able to take time off or at least make sure they had that weekend off!
sounds like a good idea for the not so hot days....maybe late september!

Yup, we could set up a day run with the local boys within the month and set up the overnighter for the fall.

If we set up an overnighter at Sugar Loaf they do have a marina with boat rentals. Maybe you can get a couple of guys to chip in. Me, I generally lounge in the pool, watch sunsets and down a Rum Runner (or 2) when we go there.

Ok, it's a little scary planning stuff during hurricane season but I'll make some calls for late Sept thru early Nov.
Considering the ride for some methinks we should stay 2 nights so that might mean a Friday or Monday off work (awww shucks). Labor day might be cool but the rates will probably be up. Nov. 9, 10, 11 takes in Veterans day and might work.
I'll call them today to see what's up.

Yummy
I just called Sugarloaf and the owner (who does the negotiatin') is gone until Tuesday. I did find out the summer rates are still in effect for Veterans Day weekend so that might be a good time juuuuuust past hurricane season too.
How about a little head count of guys that might be interested so I can give them some trial #s Tuesday.
2 nights Nov 10 & 11th. Drive down early Saturday, all day Sunday & drive back Monday.
