Received a "promotion" at work!!

Well, I am already the Chief Finanical Officer for the company I work for (CADD Centers of Florida, Inc., the oldest Autodesk reseller in the US). I've been here over 11 years and two days ago, another title was added to me (as well as more responsibility). I am now the Mechanical Sales Director, and will be heading up the entire Mechanical Division, in addition to my current duties as CFO. CADD Centers of Florida, Inc. just picked up Siemen's Velocity Series of software to sell, including Solid Edge. Our territory is limited to the State of Florida, so if you are in Florida and you are looking for Solid Edge or any other Siemen's Velocity software (NX CAM Express, Teamcenter Express or Femap), please give me a shout. The owner of CADD Centers is hoping I can build this division into a company that could run on its own, and then allow me to buy it from him (at a greatly reduced price). Would be kind of cool to own my own company...even better that it has to do with Mechanical design and Manufacturing.

I spend half my time at work in AutoCAD, designing building mechanical system. Fancy to see you here :-P

Hopefully that came with a boost in pay as well... not uncommon these days to get much more responsibility without any change in pay.

Super T - If you are only using AutoCAD to do that design work, you need to talk to your company. Autodesk has better software that would make things a lot easier on you...AutoCAD MEP or Revit MEP. I'd suggest Revit MEP, as you get both AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP in one package at the same price.

Anyway, I wish it came with a raise. I will start getting quarterly bonuses based on profit. I gotta hit Billet Technology up to purchase.

Could update their shop and have it run more efficiently...means more parts that we can all buy. LOL!!

LOL!!! Yeah, you are right there!

Looks like Saturday will be another day racing the slowest of my three cars...the Corvette. Strange Engineering has had the rear for my SS sitting in their shipping department for a week now. Hopefully, it ships this week! Vette will be going into HPS, next week for the transformation. Hope the SS is done before the next Challenge on May 17th!

I use Autocad Electrical for control cabinets and PLC layout. Buy from Imaginit your competition I guess? All I do is upgrades EVERY Damn year....The local dealer in Jacksonville dropped the ball many years ago.
I use a product that evolved from the ACAD 10 days, Via Development they were bought out by Autodesk a few years back, so now it is Autocad Electrical.
