ok i have a question that i need help on, i have a 07 magnum 2.7L that had single piston caliper in the front and solid rotors in the rear. so i purchased the complete R/T brake package, and now the brake pedal feels spongee and a buddy of mines just ordered a new master cylinder from a R/T and found out that the holes on the R/T are smaller so hes going to find some reducers to make it fit to my brake line fittings. but also one of his employees also found out that when he plug the scanner to the car to check the ABS unit it does not pop up or read it. i need to know if there is something else to check that i have missed. and also all 4 brake calipers have been blead out so there is no air in the lines.
Sounds like air in the lines. Try bleeding them again.

ok thanks Bill, also ive been doing some research online and it seems that Chrysler had a Recall on the ABS module back in the beginning of 2007 could that be something to look into to?
does anyone know if it is a good idea to change the brake shoes on the parking brake to see if it will help the brake pedal and also my magnum is going on 5 years and still the same shoes on it.
the system needs to be properly bled using a scanner to actuate the ABS pump and solenoid valves.
park brake shoes will not affect brake pedal feel.
ok when i went to get it done and it did not show up on the machine anyway to find out how to get it to pop up.
only need the scanner to bleed the pump and solenoids. not required if only replacing the calipers but necessary if the brake lines are disconnected upstream of the HCU (hydraulic control unit) which i assume is the case since he tried to replace the master.

what kind of scanner did the guy use? maybe it does not communicate with ABS.
i dont know what kind of scanner it was but i was doing some searching on the web and it says that the 2.7L motor did not come with ABS. can anyone confirm that because i would like to know.
I put RT calipers on the front of my 2.7 ( i do not have an ABS unit) and my brakes are not soft at all. No need to change the m/c.
ok i just redid bleeding all 4 brake calipers today and it is alot better than before and stop better. but i did check the area were the abs module goes and found out i do not have it on my magnum. so what im going to do is in another couple of weeks i will bleed them again and see if they get better but for know they are way better than 2 weeks ago.
Glad you figured it out... I've got the parts just gotta get time to do the swap..
thanks Igolo, and trust me it is worth the time to do this upgrade on the V6 its alot better. and since you havent put them on yet it is the best time to buy some caliper paint and paint them now before they are installed.
Yes I agree, best thing for these cars are bigger brakes and the RT brakes should have come on from the factory. Painting them before hand is definitely easier than trying to do it later. I polished mine before I mounted them.
