Possible Rules Changes for Mopar Challenge 2008 @ Moroso

There has been some talk on the forum about the December event where 2 "Pro-Street" Mopars entered into the Mopar Challenge. The best way is to figure out what "we" would like in the Mopar Challenge rules. There are bonuses in each category listed:
All Mopars - No matter what: Highest numbers of cars (which is what Moroso wants)
Modern Mopars (Have heard this term thrown out there...but back to what year?)
All Mopars - with Mopar Engine/Transmission: Keeps the bracket cars to be running a Mopar engine, instead of a Chevy motor.
LX/LY Based Mopars Only: Severely limits the number of cars, Moroso might not go for this one.
Street Legal/Registered Mopars Only: Cars would need to be tagged and street legal to run.

Now, one thing to remember, when bracket racing, you are running against yourself the majority of the time. Even when you are lined up next to a full out race car. Also, racing against better opponents helps you become better yourself. If I had not raced for 2 years in the Corvette Challenge, I would suck even worse. That is something to consider. Also, all we can do is ask that the rule be put in place. It is still up to Moroso to accept the rule. Soooo...toss in your vote, if you would like.

I say all mopars. I didn't have a problem with them racing. It's all for fun. But if I had to choose a different one, I'd choose modern mopar, with the cut off being 1993. ( so not older than 15 years.)

Bracket racing is bracket racing,As long as its all MOPAR and no electronics.

I have it open through January 4th, for people to vote.

Everyone, please remember, we can only make the suggestion to Moroso on this. I, personally, don't think they would have a problem with the ALL MOPAR requirement (no Chevy engines, etc.). Whether they will want to limit it to only Street Legal, I have no idea.

IMO ..We need to speak to Ronnie or Louis,He has always said if we ever have a problem come to them not the track.And they did invite us so lets not ruffle any feathers..Make the suggestion and it is what it is..

Plans were to go through Ronnie and Luis on any suggestion to rule changes for the Mopar Challenge. Sorry I was unclear about this. We plan to use the "proper" channels, as to not ruffle any feathers with Moroso. The Mustangs invited us and have helped run the Mopar Challenge. We are hoping that this coming season, we can do more for our own series, further assisting Ronnie and Luis, so they can concentrate on the Mustangs. Everything will go through the two of them.

I liked the "family" spin the Mustang guys put on things at the last event and think continuing in that vein is the right way to go. What we need to do on our end is achieve a consensis and present it to them as a united front. It will all work itself out!

Maybe Kris"SRT8U" will volunteer.They contacted us both about this but he put most of it together,not to mention he knows Ronnie,Louis a little better then I do..Just a thought...
