Our Son Is Back In Hospital....again

What a way to end the old year, yup, our son had to be taken to the hospital again. Same old problem, lots of stomach pain and throwing up blood. He has an active ulcer at the base of his Esophagus, which acted up again. Last time he was in the hospital, the doctors gave him a list of things he shouldn't eat or drink.

He spent yesterday at his girlfriends house and probably ate foods he should avoid and maybe he was drinking beer again. Guess he knows more than the doctors. Will he ever learn?????

The real bad news is that we got him new medical insurance that would have paid most of the medical bills, but it doesn't start until 2008.
Just a matter of another 4 hours and he would have been covered.
Oh well, guess dear old Dad gets to pay again.

I sure hope that the new year is better...................

Sorry to hear that, Bob. The worst part is almost if he is ignoring the doctors' advice. From the sounds of it, it's a bad situation when something happens with the ulcer. I hope he gets better soon and next time you will be covered.

Bob, it's a known fact among us older folks. Your kids are always your kids, no matter what their age. I hope everything works out.

That is so true! Hey Bob i hope your son gets all the needed medical treatment. I know how frustrating it can be when something like that arrise, but always remember your family always comes first.

Bob, I hate to be nosey but is he in Monroe Regional? The reason I ask my sister-in-law was admitted there yesterday. They where under staffed and she was having a rough time. I pray your son recovers quickly.

No, he is in West Marion, it is part of Ocala Regional, it is the new hospital on west #200. A nice hospital, all the rooms are private.

Update:
He is still in the emergency room, in real bad shape, they will move him up to Intensive Care - when they get a room available. It is the holiday season, plus all the snowbirds are here, so hospital rooms are scarce.

Then there is the medical coverage/doctor problem..................

His old medical coverage (and doctor) expired on 12/31, the date he went into the hospital. His new medical coverage/new doctor starts today on 01/01/08................His old doctor is on vacation, and we can't reach his new doctor - plus our son is a new patient that the doctor has never seen before.

Oh joy.......................

We have lifted him up in prayer Bob. Just hang in there it's in the Lords hands.
I know what you mean about the hospitals. Your just a number to them.

Bob....I certainly hope your son comes through this latest issue without any problems! When he is over this bout of illness, sounds like you might have to talk to him about no more beer!
