Moroso Mopar Challenge May 17th

Yup thats right, May17th!! As most of us know Moroso is closing in May for some major, much needed renovation.
The LAST Challenge (and drag racing period) at Moroso until October 2008 is May 17th so lets get everyone out there for the biggest, baddest challenge yet!!

The Challenge isnt going back to Moroso in the fall when it re-opens?

I think it probably will since they are thinking of relocating it while Moroso is closed down. I'm sure once the renovations are done it will come back to Moroso.

Anyway, I'm 80% sure I will be there. I gotta have at least one run in the 15's with my Maggie!!!

I'll be there in a car (still waiting for the rear for the Monte to come in...should be the end of this week...hopefully).

I am not sure about the Mustang/Mopar/Truck group. It looks like on the Corvette/GM side, they are going to do various events on the same days as the Challenges were going to happen. For instance, the June event, the coordinators are trying to get a go-kart night going at either Moroso or the Indoor Go-Kart place in Fort Lauderdale. For Challenge Racers that show up for these events, they are going to give 5 points to the drivers. It is a way to keep the group connected. Also, the Corvette/GM group will run at least one more 2008 event once the new track opens (even if it isn't until January 2009), as the points are really close at the top of the Corvette Challenge leaderboard.

The Challenges will still be happening once the track re-opens. I have not heard any rumors that they would cancel the Challenges. It brings in some good revenue for them.

I hope we continue the Challenge at Countyline when Moroso is down because with finances as they are I can't be doing much traveling if I want to make the Shindig this year.

I'm getting my heads/cam installed the weekend prior, and tentatively getting everything CMR tuned on the 18th. So, if the car is running well after the install, I'll go to the track with a canned tune and see how it runs. And then I'll get the CMR tune the next day
