Just got another car to compete in the Challenge @ Moroso

Don't worry...it isn't another Mopar. 1FAST4DR told me about a car his father-in-law was selling...picked it up this morning. It is a 1986 Chevrolet Corvette. It won't make its first track appearance until some time this summer. Hoping to get it into the shop by March for some engine work (can you say 383 stroker ), transmission work, rear end work and a 6 point cage. Thinking about running this one on NOS. Want to build it into an 11 sec. car. Then, once that work is done, then I'll get the interior finished up (that is really the only main thing wrong with the car right now). Thanks again 1FAST4DR for letting me know about it!! It feels so nice to be behind the wheel of a Vette again. 5 months without one was plenty of time apart.

Thanks for posting the pictures, Scott. Yeah, the only things I am going to fix inside before it goes to the shop are the door panels and the seats. For the seats, I have a pair of Corbeau A4 seats sitting in my garage, left over from my Z06. Just need to get new seat tracks for them and bolt them in. I can't wait to get this Vette ready for the track.

Cool^^..You know what. You should put a N20 set up on there. They make a nice plate that goes behind the throttle body...Might be a quick and cheap way to start going a little faster...Oh maybe add a set of D/Rs..Just a thought..

    Already ahead of you...
Talking to the shop about stroking the 350 to a 383, heads, cam, intake, etc. Was trying to decide between Supercharger, Turbocharger or Nitrous. I have a feeling I am going Nitrous. Transmission will be rebuilt to handle the power I am going to throw at it as well as the rear end. DR's are going to be a must (along with a line lock, so I can do large clouded burnouts!) Reason I am thinking of going Nitrous is the car will also be driven on the weekends...makes it a little bit more streetable. Its going to be a fun project!!!

BTW...anyone want to buy a 400hp 1986 Monte Carlo SS? I need to find it a new home!!

I hear ya,but run the N20 first the way it is,Would be kinda neat to make a few stock motor passes,Then N20,Then up the n20 a bit.And hey if something breaks.Let the rebuild begin
