Hey Tony,Good to hear from you.If you know a police officer he can sign it off for you.Matter of fact there are two in our club. One is a Lauderhill officer. He lives about a mile away. And then there is another one .He is a Metro dade officer..

when i got mine for the windows and having my windshield tinted, it was cheaper to just pay the fine and keep things as is........70 bucks for the fine........170 to redo everything after the ticket would have been signed......pretty easy choice for me!!!

But what happens if you pulled over again? Do you pay another fine?

If it is not a "fix it" ticket, just pay the fine and go on your way. If it is a fix it then you will have to get it "fixed" and signed off by an officer.
I got pulled a few months back and Scott and Bryan got pulled over as well within the same few weeks, Lisa just got nabbed on Saturday...apparently they are on another Tint craze lately!

Remember, I got pulled over right as I got off the Turnpike at our last Moroso event. It was FHP and he followed me around the whole Publix parking lot as I looked for parking. He just gave me a warning though.

Like 2 weeks later I got pulled over again in Hialeah for my tints. He just let me go because I was a Mets fan. lol

Personally, I think the tint laws are bit rediculous and just another way to generate revenue in the guise of public and officer safety. There are so many opinions and variations on what's legal and not from state-to-state. When the out of staters are hasselled, thats when you know its harrassment/revenue generation motivated.

I had my front sides done to about 26% during the time when Georgia's tint law was not in effect, since they had to rescind it to modify to include ALL vehicles in (or passing through) Georgia, not just Georgia residents.

Gotta get all the Florida druggies coming through, y'know?

But I DO see the point of view of the LEO's who are walking up to a car they can't see into, knowing that whatever is in there CAN see them.

    That'd freak me right out.

Whine all you want, but tinted windows ARE indeed against the law, so if you get pulled over for them, I don't want to hear about it...

Mike, I have to agree. Like it or not it's the law so why give the local gendarmes another excuse to hassle you?? Also, it's one of the few anti-car nut laws that makes sense. You need to be able to see if there's indeed a threat in the car (as do I).
This has been going on for how long??? I remember as far back as the early '80s cops up North sitting a block from a big car event and just picking off guys for tint when they came out (not mention anyone pulling a hole shot leaving).
I never did understand the need for the real dark tint unless you had a real hot girlfriend that liked to be uh..............be distracting when you were driving (boy was that a long time ago)

Florida isn't really to bad with the tint laws, at least not compared to NY where I came from...

In Jersey, they will use ANY excuse to bust your chops! The irony is all the State Troopers cars are tinted! Makes me want to wrap my head with Duct Tape so it won't explode!

how did u get the tnt exempted sticker? is that legit or just a funny sticker like F.B.I-female body inspector. lol

ive been pulled over many times since owning this car this past yr. never got 1 ticket. ive disturbed the piece a few times and the rest for tint. the cop measured my front and rear windows. 01% front, 00% rear. im in the Coast Guard so that saves me lots of $$$$$$$

I wish I had a girl like that AJ, and while I do agree that LEOs are put in danger by "limo tint", tint in general definitely protects the leather, keeps the interior cooler in the summer months, saving A/C, and Gas, it also protects any valuables inside when the car is resting by herself AND it is thought to actually protect passangers in an accident because the glass wont shatter all over the place it will stick to the tint.

So it has SOME practical purposes.
