IF Moroso closes, here are the options

Hey Moroso Racers,
I just got off the phone with Louis from The Mustang Challenge, Inc. The rumors about Moroso closing are more of a possibility than before. Moroso may have the $$$ necessary to redo the track. It is still a big IF, as to whether Moroso will close to redo the track or not. This is not a confirmation of the project going ahead. The Mustang Challenge, Inc. just wants to get input on ideas before trying to secure the dates at another track, if the remodeling takes place. If it does take place, there is a very good chance that Moroso could be closed through December. I don't know what the Corvette/GM Challenge crew is doing, but Louis asked me to get some feedback from all of you. As you can see in the poll, there are three choices; Race at Immokalee (http://www.immrace.com/), Race at Countyline (http://www.countylinedragwayinc.com/), or not race anymore this season. Both tracks are only 1/8 mile tracks. Immokalee is a good distance from the majority of us. Also, as Louis told me, if you break down at Immokalee and don't have a trailer, you would have a very hard time getting your car back over to this side of the State. So...IF Moroso closes, what would you rather do?

I'll probably wait for Moroso to re-open, the 1/8 doesn't really do "it" for me. When is it rumored to close?

I would be up to go over to countyline for a few challenges. Also a trip to Bradenton will be in order.

I do know that countylines track prep isnt the greatest but sheit we race at Moroso..man we've seen it all. Immo supposedly is much better prepped but it is just too far for me.

Hanging out and sharing ideas is a big part of why I go out to the challenges so 1/8th mile wouldnt bother me too much..... something new and different.

Countyline Countyline!! It's so close to me that I can walk there. But I won't becuase I need my car to go through the 1/8 mile.

Rumor is that it would close in May. Again, this is only a rumor. Ronnie and Louis just want to get an idea in case it happens.

I heard again from a good source they are just waiting on permits, as soon as the permits are issued the construction begins, they have already bought the property between the 2 entrances. But ultimately nothing is for sure except death & taxes.
