    How does your spouse feel.........

I thought this would be a good question for the forum! Does you spouse, or life partner, support what you have done with your car? Or does he or she give you that saying "You are just putting too much money in that car" , or the one "that car means more to you then I do"
To share, my wife does not like me putting money in my car, but gets a charge out of the attention it gets driving it around. She also is one of those people who grabs onto the dash if I give it some gas. At times I feel I get more enjoyment out of my car when she isn't in it! Is it just me or do any of you have the same experience!

Mine hates the amount of money I have dumped into it, but I do include her in the fun by having her come to meets and such, so it's not taking any time away from her. That's generally the biggest complain from most wives... time spent with car, modding, and car buddies takes time from them. Not so in my case.

Of course I have a tendency to really piss her off when I pull stunts like coming home in a new car that she had no idea I was buying.....

I also ask my wife to come with me to meets and car shows. Don't get me wrong, she really likes the car now! She hated it when I bought it. But after fixing it up and the remarks she hears from people on how nice it looks, I she she enjoys it as much as I do. I just feel at times she holds me back from enjoying my car, or it's performance. I guess that's not a bad thing, as she has kept me from getting speeding tickets.

My Charger was a reward to myself after 5 long years at a high tech startup, and my wife was all for it. She mocks me a little when I wash it multiple times in a week, but other than that, she is very supportive of my going to meet and greets. She's even ok with my mod'ing as long as I don't break the family budget.

My wife has used the: "that car means more to you than I do" a few times. I have asked her to go to some of the M&G's but she hasn't wanted to. As far as the 'spending too much money' on it...well she's had her Suburbans and SUV's so there is no complaint. In fact when I was first looking at getting a Magnum I was looking at SXT's and my wife and kids kept asking me; "Don't you really want a Hemi?" , so thats what I got. The youngest boy goes to the strip with me/helps me with the mods. Let him drive it at the track 1/2 the time.

I think Marc's happy for me to have something I enjoy and that keeps me out of his hair.

And as much as he complains about how many meets we go to, he's always the one trying to quick detail the car at every gas station and stop.

    mine is the same way...

not happy about the money, but we keep separate accounts. I have a mod-money account that I put money into after all the necessities are paid, she does the same for her hobby (collect various music memorabilia)

she hates it when I drive 2 mph over the speed limit, gets mad when I got WOT or goose it..

but likes to watch as people ooh, and ahh over it in parking lots, and she likes to go to shows with me, car shows, motorcycle shows, etc because she knows it's my hobby and she likes to support me in it..

I'm the same.. I don't care too much for concerts and such, but for her I go..

In response to the thread title....

    She feels great!

She spends more on shoes and purses than I do on my SRT so she knows better than to say anything.

got the " you love this car more than me" routine but she mellows out. She sometimes goes to the shows with me but I really think she would love an lx meet. Over all she has a problem tring to visualize what I want to do but when its done.. she likes... prime example... my hood.

Been thru 4 sets of rims since last march... 2 of which I kept... one for winter which is on now and my other set sitting and waitin.

Time for the 2009 LX and Beyond Nationals
