Cody's Roadhouse To Reopen in Ocala

Yes sir, good news in the local newspaper today.

Cody's Original Roadhouse restaurant (SR40) that caught fire and had to close down, will get a new life - and soon.

Now the bad news, Cody's will be moving into the Hops Grill and Brewery
located at 2505 SW College Rd. (SR200). Hops went belly up and closed their doors on Thursday. No exact date for the opening was set.

That makes six (6) restaurants that have closed in Ocala:

Hops
Perkins
Lone Star Steakhouse
El Patron
Bennigans
Shells

That were my thoughts! Once the place opens I will talk to the manager and see if they have the ability to seat a large group. I was thinking it would be nice to get the group to come to the Friendship meet ( around 70 cars last night) or the meet at Big Lots. The Big Lot meets are growing, last week there was around thirty cars. Friendship is on the first Friday of the month, and Big Lots on the last Friday on the month. We could do it like we did when we met at Albertson's. Also another thought is Crystal River has a big meet every Saturday at Wendy's, which is in front of a large shopping center. Every 2nd Saturday they give out cake to everyone to celebrate everyones birthday that month. Always a big turnout on that day. There is a Cody's directly across the street from that meet as well!

I'm in to come up from Orlando. Lived in Ocala a few years back and it is a shame to see all the closings. Ocala is a great place to live and raise kids.
