    2008 Board Nominations

    Happy New Year FLXC!!! (Or should I say FLEXORG, LOL). We are nearing the end of our First Official Year (ya we ROCK ), and I wanted to remind everyone that after you have renewed your membership, please feel free to send me your nominations.

    I would like to send my nominations in by the 25 th of Jan, however where is this taking place, and if I cannot be present at the meeting there is No point in voting is this correct!!! Just wanted this clarified.

    Specifically per our Articles and By-laws:
    any current member can nominate for any board positon, BUT you MUST be present for Voting, there are NO Proxy votes for elections. Elections are done by secret ballot at the General Membership Anniversary meet.

    The Secretary (Heat116) is just collecting nominations for the ballots.

    So...what you are saying is... That EVERY member within this State-wide club, needs to drive to the meeting location...take 10 minutes(ish) to cast their vote... then turn around and drive back home?? Sure would suck to live in the panhandle of this State....

    That by-law needs to be changed. It should be proxy vote. Obviously most members cannot come to vote because it's too far to drive just to vote.

    South Chapter members you will have to do like me drive up for the night cast your vote, and enjoy old town for the evening and stay over night. There are plenty of cheap hotels to be found, or you can stay over Matt's house...lol
