question on my BT shift knob

I have the old school muscle car ball, and no matter how much I tighten the screw it keeps spinning on the shaft of my oem shifter base.

    any thoughts?

Its is stripped? Or does the 1/4 20 set screw lock down?

THe set screw goes all the way in, but doesn't secure the ball to the shaft, by looking in the hole it looks like the set screw doesn't go in far enough to prevent spinning. I removed the whole screw and it's not stripped

don't mean to thread jack, but just wondering if you guys make shifter knobs that screw on and don't use set screws?
