so. to those who attended the lonestar track day m&g.. im pretty sure you got to see all of the runs my car didnt make. since it wouldnt start.

quick overview:
dudeiforgotcash. so i had to go and get a 20 at the nearest atm.
so im in, park hte car.
shoot the breeze with some memembers. look in awe at Redfox's 426 and shaker.
get called for inspection
sit in car and change fan settings
predator tune installed! you may now unplug
car wont crank up.

so. the verdict from the dealer:
your TCM doesnt know what gear your car is in and wont let you start because it doesnt think you are in Park.
Dealer orders me a new TCM --- --- -- UNDER WARRANTY
its waiting for me to pick it up as we speak.

ive talked to mike at diablo and he says he had this happen ONCE before. the previous person had to send mike his PCM, TCM and Predator unit. he told me he could more than likely talk me thru it and fix it if i was in my car with my predator. but by this time my new TCm was already in the car lol.

i voiced to mike that my biggest concern now is whether or not i can safely use my current predator unit on my car again or if something may be screwy inside of it.

he told me to call him back when i have my car and my predator in front of me and hed walk me thru the process of cleaning my predator and re-installing a tune on my car just to make sure the old predator was safe.

so ill be doing that today if i get to my car before 7.

Ya dude - I would like to have seen what your car would have done with your mods.I think Deathtrain has the same basic mods as you and he was running strong.

Did Mike say what caused the TCM and Preditor to act-up?

I would have reflashed the TCM. It must be defective if they chose to order you a new one instead.

that was my thinking too. i couldnt figure out why it was gone for a day cuz of just that. oh well.

so i pick my car uptonight right? and on the reciept the only charge is:

0$- wrecker service

they didnt even show the TCM being used. not on the reciept at all. not even anythign saying "free" or "under warranty" or "0$"

its like they didtn do anything as far as i can tell. at least.. tahts on the record, that they gave me.


best part? the 150 dollar tow charge got footed by the dealer? woot woot

oh.. actualy no, the best part is as soon as i got home i decided to take my chances and see what the predator does when i hook it up.

IT TAKES THE PERFORMANCE TUNE.
i put the devil back inside and she runs like one sweet little devil again.

anyone for another lil mini track meet in a week or 2?
im designating this coming weekend as mini project weekend. on the list:
-paint calipers
-paint intake tube
-paint 6.1L valve covers
(and all the prep work that goes into this.)

im not sure if i will get all, or even any of these done however. haha. BUT i do know that i am going to also purchasing some tires/rims this weekend too.

gonna be a fun one :D
