    GIFO4 Meet & Greet – May 12 & 13, Sacramento CA

“The Great Intake (and a whole lotta other mods) Face Off 4” Meet & Greet. Be there or be square!

Here are a few highlights… just to whet your appetite J
    • MagnumFreak will be flying out from the East Coast, and he's bringing his StarScan! We’ll get the opportunity to meet with and learn from the project Morpheus creator himself! Come see what the StarScan is all about
    • Open dyno time. Yep, thats right... many of you will get the chance to see what your rig can do on the now (in)famous GIFO dyno!
    • Think you’ve got mad skills? Prove it; line up against fellow members at the track and see if you can come out on top. You better be quick though, the queen of the track, gotls1, is damn good…
    • Two days of dyno, two days of track, good folks and good food. What more could ya want? (rhetorical question, please don't answer )
Sound fun? Keep reading for the specifics:

    What:
This GIFO4 is going to pit some of the best mods we have available to us against one another. We’re going to dyno them and track test them. No mod is safe! Click here for all the testing specifics.

    When and Where:
The GIFO4 schedule has not been finalized. You're welcome to join us for all or some of it.

    Thursday May 11
    2pm to 5pm:
We'll kick off the GIFO4 with round one of dyno testing at SVS R&D. Mods to be tested include the Superchips tuner in 87 economy and 91 performance tunes. Also slated to be tested are the Weapon R intake as well as some other "top secret" modifications I'm not at liberty to discuss... don't wanna have to kill ya

    5pm till dawn
Eat, drink and be merry at our hotel, the Sacramento Marriott in Rancho Cordova, CA.

    Friday May 12
    9am to 5pm:
Dyno OVERLOAD! Can you say test... I mean TEST! Round two of the GIFO4 dyno tests will be run during this time. Toward the end of the day, we'll also be running your cars... as many as we can get thru. Click here for the exact dyno run schedule.

    6pm to 10pm:
Off to Sacramento Raceway we go to line 'em up and see what all this mod business gets us in the 1/4 mile. Come ready to race; wear your long pants and remove anything not tied down cause its "go time". The track charges $50 per car planning to race, and $10 (I think) per observer.

    10pm till dawn:
Eat, drink and be merry back at the hotel. Well ya'll might... I'll probably drop dead from exhaustion. Thats a long day of GIFO testing after all!

    Saturday May 13
    12ish - 4ish:
We'll be meeting up at Haggin Golf Complex for a M&G. Lunch will be served at 1pm and will consist of BBQ tri-tip sandwiches on a french roll, ranch beans (little extra boost for the track runs , potato salad and a soda. Lunch will be $15 per plate, so bring your cash if you plan to eat.

    4ish - 10pm:
Make your way over to Sacramento Raceway for more track fun. The track opens at 4pm, and racing starts at 6pm. The track charges $5 admission fee per head, and and additional $35 for each car planning to race.

    Who:
I will keep current a list of attendees in the post following this one. Please respond to this thread in the following format (borrowed from fatchance and HEMEE), so that we can get an idea of who to expect. Its probably easiest to copy and paste this, replacing the info between the dashes:

Username - City,State - Forum affiliation - Car model - First name – Days to attend – Need a room? - Dyno run? - Total # of folks you're bringing to eat Saturday

The past GIFO's have been a blast. This one, however has a chance to be the best to date. Come out and help us make it so.

    Lodging:
We have set up a group rate discount at the Sacramento Marriott. The group rate is $99 per night, for May 11, 12 and/or 13. Call 916-638-1100 now and be sure to reference code "LX Forums" when booking. This will ensure you get the agreed to rate for any or all of the three nights.

*NOTE: We are already over the contract limit of rooms for Thursday night. This is not a problem if you call and reserve your rooms on or before 5/3. The Marriott has agreed to give anyone calling on or before that date our group rate discount for Thursday night, if a room is available. As of 4:30pm April 14, there were plenty of rooms. I suggest, however, if you want to stay Thursday night, call them and book it now!

    Misc Notes:
    • For those of you that frequent other LX forums, please pass along this invite. All in the LX family are welcome to join us
    • Obviously, this has the makings of a huge event. I would ask that, if you do plan to attend, please see fit to contribute either your time or your money. We've got a large bill that needs to be paid in order to make all this happen. This event is a little different from other M&Gs in that we not only get together and share the LX love, but we see what they can do by testing the crap outta them; unfortunately, that part takes fundage. Click here for the GIFO4 details and contribution method, or you can PM me and we can make other arrangements.

I think I have also figured out a way to keep the transmission from dropping down a gear when you start your dyno run. I will do some testing Wednesday to find out.

As far as helping with my ticket. Any amount would really help. A part of me just says come anyway. It sounds like a blast.

    Count me in.

jtfisher63 - Modesto, Ca - LXforums, Chargerforums - Charger R/T - Jason - Friday and Saturday - No room needed - No dyno run needed.

I will probably come by myself Friday, but with the family on Saturday. I don't need to run my car on the dyno unless you guys need a stock guinnea pig. I'll get back to you guys later about helping with the fund. I'm still working on my finances, but I do plan on pitching. Later, Jason.

Hey guys, check out the 25 cent fan mod before you go... It's now a 75 cent one. I'd like to know how it works out!

This works like a charm, jaak. Already proven a winner. Helps keep temp down between runs, that's for sure.

Yeah, but did you read what I added? The original mod disables one fan on low speed and only enables one fan on high speed... I've modded, the mod. Now you can have both on low, automatically adjusted to high by the FCM or force both on high.
