rt4, we're counting on you. We need a stock RT real bad.
I'm in, but y'all knew that. Paypal sent. If Superchips cooperates both Jason and I should have tuners and of course if mine can be made useful as well we can gopher it.
Also on Monday I should be fitted with a prototype factorydusa intake. My impression, after looking into the construction of the thing, is that while I told factorydusa that I would send it back ... that isn't going to happen and they will have to sell it to me. Thus if all goes well we can yank the thing off my car and plant it on a stock mule/victim. Or not if factorydusa wants a for-reals production unit on the block.
If you can use my car in some capacity, great. Its available. Maybe I can also talk Bob into putting it onto a lift and doing a thorough check on the header bolts (gag). J you should consider the same opportunity.
I'm down for whatever day. Just gimme some notice. March is kinda ugly but I'm guessing we're talking a date past that.

Hey there CV, Meister, Matt, and everyone else. Count me in and I'll have a paypal on the way to you shortly CV. I'll even offer up my stock '06 for the programmer testing.
Looking at the Sac Raceway schedule, the Friday night test & tunes don't start until May. So, we can do this without the track results, make it a 2 day event (they do have test & tunes on Saturdays), or wait until May. Either way, looking forward to it!

CRAP! No Friday track? We gotta have track runs. I don't care if I have to drive back the next day. Last time I did pretty good and had a 3/4 tankful of gas and 40 psi in the tires (DOH!). Wanna run with the SC program in during cold temps *real* bad.
Plus they have great hot dogs there.
I'm starting to like the idea of a two day event. Gives more opportunity for folks to join us, spreads out our time demands. This might work really well if I need to have a cat install done too. Hmmmmm....
Hey there gal. Good to see you back on the boards.Originally Posted by gotls1

The problem we'd have is we'd be foregoing the tests on vehicles with history to them, and we'd be using a different dyno. By using the same facility every time we eliminate the inevitable, unfortunate variances encountered from brand to brand, machine to machine.
Plus we'd have to ship stuff across country, although that one is kinda workable. Especially since we'd be saving dyno time we'd be otherwise paying for. I hate to split things up but is it possible to do stock dyno runs in the Far East in some community members' capable hands? CV runs the show in terms of setting the test criteria?
Real antsy about using a different dyno though. We've got history with the SVS system and know it pretty much inside and out. We run the risk of invalidating our tests by introducing new variables that are out of our control.
EDIT: In my own case, while I will be participating again by bringing my presence and bad attitude I think my car is out as a test platform. We need a modded car (CV's) to test various intakes, as well as stock units (others were volunteered). I may buy a set of runs from Bob so I know where I'm at, though. I know you guys know I'm not trying to hang onto stuff for personal reasons, but just wanted to say it out loud.

I've given this some thought. I totally agree with Matt's concerns; in order to maintain the integrity of our results, and therefore the usefulness of this and subsequent GIFO's, the test environment and conditions MUST stay consistent (at least as consistent as we can make them). So, the GIFO4 will be held at SVS and Sac Raceway, using my Magnum and a stock LX (most likely gotls1's as she has a "broken in" Magnum that is bone stock).Originally Posted by MattRobertson
Having said that, I see no reason we shouldn't entertain the idea of a GIFO4-EC ("East Cost" edition). If there is enough interest, maybe a point person can be chosen. I can then work with that point person to develop a test procedure and hardware list that best matches the tests we're going to run here on the West Coast. If we think there is benefit to be had, lets do it!
Maybe one of you east coasters can nominate a point person. Communicate with them via PM and if they show interest, have them contact me via PM to take the next steps. Lets try and keep this thread west coast specific; if you're so inclined feel free to fire up a new thread in search of that point person. I will lend any help I can.
Anyone out there have a Jet throttle body spacer we can borrow for these tests? There is prototype out there I'd like to test it against... let me know!
