Ok then, here we go!
DECEMBER 4 - 6 ~ SVS R&D ~ SACRAMENTO RACEWAY
Back by popular demand, the Mods Face Off 6 is here! This three plus day event will see the MFO series of tests returns to its roots; intakes intakes and more intakes.
Whats a "MFO?" What the heck is this business?
Not sure what the Modifications Face Off is? (sometimes called "MFO" or "MoFO")? Be sure to read this Q&A: Mods Face Off Testing Methodology Q&A
What are you testing this time?
Intakes intakes and more intakes. This time around, we're testing intakes we haven't tested yet, including at least three brand new to the market products, you aint seen yet.
Also we'll be testing a 90mm throttle body on a 392 stroker, with and without tuning and with and without an upgraded intake. More on this later.
See the second post in this thread for an up to the minute listing and test schedule.
How do I contribute?
The fact of the matter is, without financial contributions, we don't have a test. You're donations are critical to being able to pull off these tests. If you're even mildly interested in a mod we plan to test, and/or in the results, and/or just want to help a good thing, please see the third post in this thread to see our complete financial picture and contribute to our efforts.
What do I get for my contribution?
To be really clear, all results are made available to everyone (both the summary charts and graphs I come up with as well as the raw data and its reader). YOU DO NOT NEED TO CONTRIBUTE TO ENJOY THE RESULTS!
However there has been talk of some killer items ("swag") being donated in order to enable a silent auction. When you financially donate, you'll specify to me privately which item you're "bidding" on with your donation. I'll keep a private list for each item and if you end up being the high bidder, you win that item. See the third post in this thread for up to the minute details regarding the "MFO6 Silent Auction"
Can I come play?
Of course! The MFO has always been, and always will be open to everyone. We've had people from all over the country come join and take part in these historic tests. You can too! Come watch us run intake after intake on Bob Crespo of SVS R&D's dyno Thursday Dec 4rd, and/or Friday Dec 5th. Then come join us Saturday 12/6 at Sacramento Raceway and run with us at the track while we test some of the most interesting intakes as found the previous two days. And of course, there's the after hours "tests" we run...

Where do you plan to stay over? Any "group rate" on hotels?
We have in the past arranged for a "group rate" at a hotel for our event. We will NOT be doing that again as it, quite frankly, added huge amounts of stress on the part of the planners. Sorry guys, but we're working stiffs just like you and we need to keep this whole thing as simple as we can. Therefore, you're on your own.
I will be staying close to SVS R&D, at the Radisson. Its within walking distance to lots of food and uh... and a suitable watering hole is on site, should the mood strike.

There's no way I can make it there in person. Any other way to keep up to date?
Last time we opened up a chat room and did a live webcast video feed. I'm looking into doing this again. No promises though. Keep an eye on post four in this thread for updates and instructions on how to log in (should I be able to pull it off).
What else is there to know about all of this?
What? All that
aint enough? Ok then, here's some miscellaneous info
- It seems like we've done intakes to death, and I think we have. But the market has seen some real advances since our last round and some manufacturers are claiming huge things. The timing seems right to put the rubber to the rollers and VHT, and see whats what for ourselves.
(More to come)
