MFO6: Test Schedule and Volunteer Cars

For event details including location and why/how we're testing these particular intakes, please see this thread: Mods Face Off 6 (MFO6): All Pre Event Details Here

Here's the most recent proposed test schedule, rev3 (if you don't see rev3 below, please click "Refresh" within your web browser to force it to load the latest)

    **********
    Volunteer/test cars
    Stock/lightly modded 6.1: KrzySRT's 2007 Charger SRT8
    Stock/lightly modded 5.7: ????
Wildcard: kaps' 2006 Magnum SRT8 w/ AFE Stage 2 intake, Billy Boat exhaust, 180 deg tstat and Pred tuner
    **********

Please comment, question and discuss. Now is the time. I want to have this nailed down and locked in no later than 11/30, so we can start planning the organized chaos thats inherent to intake swaps at this pace.

Also I need to get absolute confirmation on who's cars are available when. Obviously mine is available for the Thursday morning portion of the tests. As of right now, I have no other confirmations.

I'm looking for a near bone stock/lightly modded 5.7 and a near bone stock/lightly modded 6.1. The third car is up to popular vote and/or who's available.

I need to make something really clear. This is something that has been raised as a concern to me privately, and I think its a valid one worth stressing here: Dyno testing as proposed in these tests is not easy on a car. Lots of full speed runs, lots of heat cycles... it can take its toll. Something you automatically agree to when volunteering your rig is that no one, not me not Matt not Bob not ANYONE associated with the MFO or SVS or LXForums in any way, can and/or will be held responsible if your car breaks. You're volunteering for these tests with zero zip and zilch explicit or implied guarantee from any of us. You speak up fully understanding you do so at your sole risk and your speaking up is your agreement you will not try to hold any of us responsible for anything that may happen while involved with these tests.

Stuff happens guys. And although we've never had one single problem across maybe 500 pulls associated with the MFO, thats no guarantee it wont happen. Bob and his team are ridiculously cautious and careful with our machines. They have an incredible respect for us and these cars, and they handle them as if they were their own daily drivers. But when those rollers get moving... well you get the point.

With all that said and out of the way, lets do this! We've got less than two weeks to lock in this procedure, organize all the labor its gona take, and secure three different LXs for the testing.

rcb, we're holding this at SVS R&D in Sacramento, CA. Thanks though!

And please see the link in the first post for the rhyme and reason as to why we're testing these intakes. The BWoody was never made available (or if it was it was after we'd come up with too many already), and the Injen is one we've tested before. See here for the results on the Injen: Mods Face Off Result: Injen Intake

What about testing the AFE Stage 2 again? Is there room open? I'm more curious on the heat test with this intake to see if it really benefits from it's heat shield or not. If not I understand. It'd be cool if it could be fit in though for sure.

Based on this schedule, there's no time for another intake on the dyno. However, if an AFE Stage 2 was dropped in my lap, we might be able to get it in on the heat testing. Got a line on one?

I might be able to come across one. If not I'm willing to bet someone other than myself can as well. I'm sure I'm not the only one wanting to know the answer to my question.

Welp, I'll put it to ya like this... if one shows up, we'll do our best to heat test it. PM me for a shipping address if you end up digging one up

If I find one I will do. Or maybe just add it to the list of stuff Junior has to haul up with him!

I think Mosie is scouting the heat test route tomorrow and once he has some drive times and done has the time to put together a schedule based on that, they'll be able to better see if it can be done. I'd like to see the AFE and any other comers put to the that test myself.

To me, the heat tests are really where its at on this go-round. We have had endless arguments over the years about this and I'd love to see some hard data.

The first thing is to get a base line for what the stock set up does with heat.
After that, depending on the time available (and a couple of other variables we may not realize until we start testing) we "should" be able to heat test a couple of extra CAI's that are NOT going to be dyno’d.

I say bring / send what you can get your hands on, and we’ll go for broke.

I might be able to fit Nitta's in my trunk. It'll be the intake wagon. Except it's not a wagon.

I'll plan on bringing it if she doesn't mind.
