    MFO5 UPDATE: Schedule Released

Friends, Romans, Countrymen. Lend me your ears...

At long last, we have a schedule of test events and dyno time for the MFO5. The delay simply could not be avoided; even though this thing has literally been in the planning stages for the last six months, it wasn't until yesterday that we had a guaranteed hardware set to test.

    Without further ado:

Questions, comments, suggestions... they are all welcome. But hurry! Testing starts tomorrow!

    No Volant?
I'm thinking of getting either Volant or Most likely AFE 2, but before buying I wanted to see how volant performed since it's the only true CAI (besides the stock box)

Ran it over a year ago; see here.

Might want to get friendly with the search feature too. Lots of great info has been derived over the last year, at 4 other tests like this one.

C'mon, there has to be at least ONE SRT8 owner local to the event! Step up, and be recognized.

What's going on Tues. and Wed.? And will you monitor coolant and/or oil temps at the start and finish of each run as a measure of heat soak, etc.

Guys/Girls, I see the test line up includes runs with the heads and cam as a package. Any chance we can include testing that documents the amount of gain realized by the cam alone, prior to the aftermarket heads?

I have yet to see very much documentation on how much some of these cams add by themselves with factory heads. Realizing both are potentially big power adders I am really interested to see how one does without the other and to be honest the heads are a considerable expense compared to the cam. A cam that doesn't set off codes and runs decent with the combos most have now (header, exhaust, S/C or BG custom tuning, and air intake) would be worth documenting. Given how much the factory heads flow it is likely a worthy upgrade by itself.

Thanks for any consideration given to the suggestion.

This is a topic for another thread but I will say this with my experiences with these motors...

(being helping install my Ported and Polished heads before and now with helping assemble my short block/install my new 7.0L Hemi)...

The labor involved with installing a cam is such you might as well just get the P&P Heads at the same time...the P&P heads an person handy with a wrench/can follow directions can do...the cam is another matter all to itself....if you are gonna do one do the P&P Heads...but you might as well do both.

    Just my .02 cents
