    Angry MFO you've been "Had"

    So I'll start with facts.

The testing was to be done on ready for market equipment.
Tune into the testing to see what?

Parts not fitting, pieces being mishmashed together to get a run.
    Elbow from this,filter from that...
    That's not right.
    That's called R&D.

Did the LX community get dupped?

    Damn skippy you did!!

I supported the testing not the R&D of someone's not ready for market prototype.

What was done to the folks that put this test together was greasy and underhanded.

    prove me wrong.

Or perhaps you left too soon and do not have a complete set of facts?

Let me say this. When the deadline to submit product ready for market could not be met R-Value bowed out publicly.

And did not submit for vendor status.

When the next opportunity for a MFO arises our product will be there.
Tested as it comes in the box. I will stand by IDLE and watch it pass or fail.

I would be ashamed to take advantage of anyone.

Testing facilities which R-Value has contact with include Bodycote Testing group and the U of W Automotive Engineering Dept.

    But that's me...

I'm curious on things such as this. Curious what the reason/outcome etc was. Not knocking anything just want to know what the reasoning (which I'm sure was good) was on it.

    Question/Concern . . .

You and others need to wait until the final test results are published to see who is part of the "real" test and under what conditions. The published results may contain some surprises and there will certainly be clarifications and explanations for what, appears at this time, to be anomalies.

this is part of the problem of a live feed on information. the information is given RAW. means there's no time to clean out the little details, and no delay to get ALL the details. Ed, i can understand your frustration, but it isnt over yet.

    Reserving this for later.....

Okay I will take you up on your request.

The system we sent is complete and ready to market. It is for the Charger and will work with either a 5.7 or 6.1.

The part that you say did not fit I assume is our ram duct. We had no trouble fitting it on two Daytona chargers. Mine and Skippytrailers.

If inserted correctly it fits fine, if not you have to pull it back a little and move the box flange side toward the front left fender a bit and push it back in.

This is a little hard to explain to a group of guys so many miles away.

The retest of the first days pulls was due to this AEcarbon Full Intake Systems (AEFIS) Prototype for MFO

The filter issue arose today while I was stuck in a closed freeway during a major Arizona DPS event. http://www.tucsoncitizen.com/ss/from...ils/104451.php

I had no cell phone service and could not be reached while I sat and waited like everyone else did during the mess.

The issue that arose during this time was our intake tube was tested on a magnum 5.7. (The complete system we sent was for a Charger).

In an effort to keep us in the testing our intake tube was tested without the Charger air box on the magnum. For the pulls the filter unit we use for the air box system was used.

We do not use that filter without the box, and will never sell our “stage one” system with that filter.

Had anyone been able to reach me I would have declined the pulls as we use a tapered filter much longer and with an angle in it for the "stage one system.

The pulls on the 5.7 Magnum were made with the incorrect configuration and that cannot be undone.

I was able to contact one of the other manufactures at the event that uses the same size and shaped filter and he agreed to supply them to us for our sales.
We then requested our intake be tested with that filter as we will be selling it with that filter thanks to the kind offer by Lance.

To be clear we sent one complete system to be tested. We did not send more than that because we felt it would be taking advantage of the MFO to send all the other items we could send.
We simply did not want to turn the MFO into the AE Carbon parts test and AEF_IS show.
We could have sent our other intake, It was right there when we delivered the system to Mike. We would have simply sent one of our filters with it. In hind site this was a huge error as the one we did not send will fit a 90MM TB.

We could have had the system tested as we will sell it. That would be in three configurations. Should we have requested three sets of pulls for each test? Since we are going to sell the ram separately we could request it be tested with other intakes as well, we chose not to do all that because it simply would be taking advantage of the event.

As for R&D, I have been testing the proto type for this unit for more than a year.
I have tested its sister on factoryD’s magnum.
This prototype has been track tested at events attended by Cam, John, Mike, Anita, Ozzy, DanRealitor, Meister, and countless others that attended any of the events I worked on.

I have logged over Thirty thousand miles with this systems prototype on my car.

Many miles were ran with it’s sister on the FactoryD magnum.

I have a pile of time slips from Speed world and Firebird raceway for my cars.

I am not sure how many runs Chris made with his.

I spent countless hours working on this system and I have spent time on the phone with many of my friends talking about my results.

These calls were to Cam, Scott Peterson, Lance, Chris, Brandon Tommyz and others not known on this forum. I am sorry if I missed any one.

I have spent hours in chat with people like Justin, Joel, Luke and many other members as I traveled the path from researcher to Developer.

Many members here locally have ridden in my Stock Dayton and I think all were shocked at how it performed, I will let them speak for themselves on that.

Once I started down the development path I was fortunate enough to have Ryan persuade me to come over and meet George at AE Carbon.

It only took one ride in my car for him to push hard to get me off my ass and work with him in an equal joint effort to make the system marketable and take it to market.

George Is as fine a craftsman as I have ever met and I count it a blessing he has brought so much to the table in this.
His ability to take the prototype from stainless steel to CF in such a short time is amazing. His knowledge and understanding of how the system was to function was complete in short order. He has brought as much to this as I could have ever wished for. I am happy to have him as a partner in the AEF_IS intake system. I hope he can say the same.

You say things were greasy and underhanded, I take offense to that.
We sent a complete unit to be tested on a 5.7 charger and a 6.1 charger.

We may not have been completely aware of how the MFO was structured, yes that is our fault but for you to imply that we were greasy or underhanded saddens and angers me.

I would have stopped testing completely rather than test with the wrong filter if I could have been reached.

Once that test happened I had no choice but to locate a proper filter.
The fine people working their butts off were wonderful about allowing us to test with the filter we will be selling with the unit. (Again thanks Lancefor the supply line and thanks to all at the MFO)

As to the substitution of the 90 I alone will take the heat for that. I felt it would be a waste not to test that unit for those that sent it if they found a 90 that was the same size and had the same dimensions.

I would hate for all the members here not to know if they should consider any one of the intakes because one part was lost.

If you wish to you can hate on me for that, I will take the heat generated by extending a gesture of good will out to someone I have never met. I have no regret on backing that decision.

    Wishing you
    All the best,
    Now drive on,
    full
