    New winter car wash

Here in the PNW it gets pretty cold outside but I still can't let my car get dirty. I found a way to get it done without getting cold. Hook your hose to the drain on the hot water tank (if it's outside in the garage.) Next, hook the other end of the hose to a Mr. Clean car washer. This will get out any mineral content in the bottom of the hot water tank and leave the car sparkling clean. The water coming out of the hose won't be blistering hot but it will be over 100 degrees.

Around here there are probably two dozen touchless places between the stand alone and the gas stations within 5-10 miles of my house. We like to wash cars 'round here. Usually a quick touchless run, followed by a Quik-Detailer wipe down gets the car just waxed clean if you do it often enough.

I wish it worked that way. It's terrible trying to keep the car clean during the rainy season. I think the rain drops must have an adhesive quality that causes dirt to stick to the car!

Have you actually tried this yet? I would be afraid that 100 degree water being sprayed on ice cold glass might result in cracks!

How do you guys who wash your cars in the garage keep from soaking down everything that isn't the car?

I would bet that they use a spraywash brush or trickle the water from the hose & hopefully they have heated garages!

I dont have this problem as I wash mine in the Test Facility or the dealership in the washbay after hours.....and airdry with larger heater fans.

I have tried this and it is usually after the car has sat in the garage for a while. This keeps the car somewhat warm and I don't have to worry about the windshield.

As per above, the car is in the garage until I'm ready to wash it and then I back the car out of the garage to wash it.

reppr.... the only reason I am so lucky is because I suffer from OCD with my cars.... I was the same way with my Dodge SLT 1500 QuadCab.
Its a must in my books.... clean vehicle in & out every week, this includes the undercarriage too.
    I will NEVER drive a dirty 300!

You know, everybody tells me that. I have been taking a milk jug of hot water out every morning in the winter since I have been old enough to work and do a force defrosting on my windows. Learned it from my Daddy!

Neither of us have ever had a problem.
