Talking My First Workout of the Spring!

    Folks,
I spent the day today detailing my GMG Daytona for the first time. 5 1/2 hours later, I had finished the outside; I'll have to do the inside tomorrow. It looks fantastic--I'll post a couple of pictures here to avoid getting roasted , but the sun/shade conditions just don't do it justice.

I started off with a good washing with Dawn, to get off the wax the no-touch place uses. I then clay-barred her, but it was obvious that the previous owner did a great job while he owned the car--the clay was almost clean when I finished!

Next, the Zaino Attack! First came the AIO--the weather was sunny but cool, so waiting for each application to dry made this step the longest. Fantastic results, and truth be told, the car would have looked great if I had stopped there. But wait, there's more...

I then applied the Z-CS Clear Seal. This step was a breeze, and brought out even more shine. I was happier than ever. But...

Finally, the Z-8 Grand Finale spray. Words can't express how the paint looks now. It's almost liquid-looking, as if you would create ripples if you touched the paint-pond!

Running out of time ( starting to lose the sun, plus I've got a hot date with Mrs. HemiDreamin' ), I quickly applied the Leather in a Bottle to the seats and dash.

What a day. I haven't enjoyed working so hard in a very long time. I'm going to be sore tomorrow for sure, but, man, was it worth it! But I sure as heck better get in shape. Next time, I'd better remember to stretch before I polish!

Below are the rather disappointing pictures:

By the way, she looks great, but I can't hear it from my house... so you must have changed the exhaust!

If I'm able to get out of bed tomorrow, I'd be glad to oblige. I know it beats the alternative, but God, getting old sucks! Since the only pill we have around here is of the chill variety:, guess I'm going to have to plop down in front of the big screen with a few of these and watch Flags of Our Fathers . Hope there's a lot of explosions and such to keep me from dozing off.

Thanks, and you're right. She's as quiet as a mouse these days.

Except when I turned onto Warrenville Road from Washington Street on the way to work yesterday morning, and a Mustang came right up on my @ss and then cut left, to pull along side of me. I don't even think I did anything; the Charger must have had a mind of her own and acted instinctively when an age-old foe put the challenge to her. Before I knew what was happening, the accelerator went down, the car momentarily fish-tailed, straightened out and we were off (only up to the posted speed limit, of course ). "Caution, Objects in the Mirror Appear to Be Losing". And the roar that my car emitted was impressive, up until the BLAAAT that came from the back that sounded like something between a lion's roar and a really big beer fart. I was LMAO as I reached a bit north of the speed limit and shut down, soon to caught and passed by the pony, who apparently had no concerns about getting espied by the local officers of the law.

Thanks, it was only 53 degrees here today, but in the sun working on my baby, I swear it felt like 73. Good luck and have fun tomorrow!

Good luck with that. As I'm sure you know better than I (or at least longer than I have!), nothing beats the feeling of pride when you gaze lovingly at the results of your efforts. Or when the neighbors do!

Thanks! I had a blast, and have to admit that I didn't mind the compliments from the neighbors as they passed by the driveway.
